Could anyone in the history of boxing ever beat a prime Roy Jones Jr.?

that's the one everyone points to because it was a legitimate, bull**** stoppage. again, like you, i don't think manfredo would have won but it was meant as a showcase for calzaghe against an american and it looks like that's how the ref wanted it played out

the question you have to ask is: if manfredo had trapped calzaghe and performed the exact same sequence of punches with joe showing the exact same defense, would they have stopped it? **** no!

Bull****. Jones showed ZERO evidence of being chinny in his prime. Admittedly, he was never in a slugfest; but Toney and Griffin hit him with some serious chin-checkers and he didn't even blink. And since when does fighting Tarver having fought the likes of Toney and Hopkins constitute a "step up"?

Michael Moorer is an ATG and his record speaks for itself in the LHW division. You don't win all your fights by knockout unless you have super human power. While his defense wasn't the greatest, he had enough power to knock Roy Jones out with one punch in both their primes.

Roy Jones was knocked down in his prime by Lou Dell Valle, had this been a fight with Michael Moorer Roy Jones would have been KTFO. This is why I say even in his prime he would have struggled against the best left handed LHW in history.
