it's tough being a calzaghe fan i know, but no need to get pissed about it. calzaghe will always be remembered as a great fighter, just not nearly as great as roy. don't have to agree with it but that will be history's tale

there is a reason roy picked cherry picked fights and bums, that was to avoid special fighters like calzaghe who would have easily out boxed him. you americans know it as well, just keep defending your boy, didnt he fight a police officer and a part time bin man once lol

^ and who exactly did Calzaghe fight???

i'm gonna be honest, watching that fight calzaghe dominated him bell to bell but he was scared of what roy COULD do for every second of that fight. he was still scared that maybe roy wasn't the ghost of a fighter he thought he was and that if he went for the kill roy could surprise him and actually hurt him. there was no possibility of that but i think calzaghe was playing it safe, not out of respect but a little fear

every ****er who wanted a piece of him in HIS WEIGHT class.

roy jones is a fraud and was over rated, would have gotten the **** knocked out, nothing but a drug abusing hype job by the american media. he ducked calzaghe and other tough fighters for a reason, going for police man and cherry picked fighters

Certainly Foster and Spinks had a chance; I quite fancy Spinks to knock him out late on actually. Also a prime Calzaghe could probably take him at supermiddle.

IMagine if Tommy Hearns had cherry-picked like Roy Jones. He would be considered better than ray robinson.

based on talent, hearns could have beaten everyone from 147-160 if he'd been a LITTLE more selective. but that's why people love hearns: he took the best available for 20 years and even though he lost, he fought EVERYONE. i don't think roy would have lost to the best but **** me, i wish he would have tried

Roy Jones seemed to be in excellent form in the second Tarver fight before getting his head knocked off. I'm not saying that was his absolute peak, but he was better than in the first fight. That scenario could happen against various other guys, if they were fortunate, namely Spinks.

I believe that a PRIME Roy Jones Jr. would have beaten ANY boxer ever except perhaps Muhammad Ali, Lennox Lewis and Vitali Klitchko. That includes beating George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Ray Robinson, Rocky Marciano, Ray Leonard and Joe Louis.
