We have Haye being a weasel when it comes to the WBA unification so, why not a WBF unification??

Bring on Evander vs Vitali! As it would be a unification match between 2 ATGs.

Evander Vitaly in a year or so. Vitali is on his way down. Maybe Solis would like to cash in and take on Holyfield ?

Well, nobody is going to be shocked and appalled if Holyfield doesn't come up with the win.

In fact, most will probably breathe a sigh of relief and say "It's about time. Maybe now he'll stop". Unless it's another robbery, in which case he'll just come back more determined...again. :patsch

Williams seems made to order for Holyfield though. He's durable but very come-forward in style, not much guile or elusiveness for Holy to worry about. He's going to be looking to outwork Evander and that should give Holy the openings to counter.

Holyfield will tear him apart. He looks made-to-order. Holyfield loves fighting guys who come at him.
If it goes 10 rounds, that's good for Evander too, because I don't think Holyfield has less stamina than the fat short guy.

I don't care if Holyfield retires or not.
It's all you people ridiculing him and saying he should go away that spurs him on.

Audley Harrison and Derek Chisora get title shots. So does Shannon Briggs.
How can we blame Holyfield for asking for a shot too ?

I mean, he did to Valuev the same as Haye did, before Haye did it. And look at all the ****ing bull**** hype Haye gets.

If the young heavyweights were really good, and Klitschkos had a load of proper challengers, then Holyfield wouldn't even be on the radar. Sadly, the Klitschkos and Haye are already fighting some guys who you'd wonder would even have a chance against Holyfield.
    That's the truth right there.

He deserved a rematch really. (even though the fight wasn't a good one)

Meh...Williams' last fight was a UD loss against Manuel Charr.

This is the same Manuel Charr that clearly lost to Zach Page in his subsequent fight.

It's a mismatch, just like every other fight on the card.

I was thinking upset too, but seeing Williams weight I think maybe he is not giving himself the best chance of winning. I think it will be a close fight, but Holyfield should be able to pull it off as long as he didnt lose something since his last fight. And he didnt really look good beating Botha. Holy is going to have to lose to a journeyman though to consider retiring, so better him lose now to Williams than lose to a Klitchko and think that he can still compete at that level and seek out another title. He already lost to Imbragimov and Valuev (on paper) and those were really his best chances at winning a title again.

I think that version of Zack Page would have beat Holyfield clearly also in all fairness.

He won against Valuev and he looked good against Botha.

It was botha tieing him up on the inside all the time that hurt Holyfield in that fight. And, frankly, Williams won't tie him up like that. Williams will go right at holy.

Well put. I agree with all of it, though i do think that the jump for top 20 guys to the Klitchkos is a big leap. Thats why all of their mandatories get destroyed. Holyfield is worthy of a shot, but beating Botha and Williams will not indicate taht he would fair any better than any of their recent challengers and hes more at risk for injury. id rather see him fight Haye than the Klits. But, of the Klitchkos I think he could go the distance with Vitali not Wlad. I think he loses to both. He wouldnt get past Wlads jab, but he is still smarter than Vitali.

Blame, no, but considering the sheer amount of criticism those 3 got for getting their gift title shots, turnabout is fair play if Holyfield gets gifted one as well.

I'll certainly be putting the boot in good and proper if the Klitschkos or Haye are classless enough to give him one. Two wrongs don't make a right, and the godawful state of the heavyweight division in recent years, in terms of challengers at the very very least, doesn't make Holy's quixotic tilting at windmills suddenly right.

Well, I think he deserved a rematch with Valuev, and Haye jumped the queue.
And he should certainly be ahead of Valuev in any queue now.
I see what you're saying, and the "champions" are probably in agreement with you, but ...
If Holyfield beats a genuine contender he could earn himself a shot. I mean, even the "top" young guys like Solis and Adamek have built there reps on only marginally better achievements.
If I was Holyfield's manager I'd be targeting an Arreola or a Peter.
That would give him as much credibility as anyone, but even if he beat them it wouldn't stop the negativity. I understand that.

I don't think there should be a moral bar on Holyfield in particular.
