Lewis would have made it a very competitive fight in the mid 90's against any version of Bowe, but the Lewis that would have gotten the fight with Bowe had it happened would have been beaten badly and rather one sidedly. Lewis was making a lot of mistakes, and he wasnt going to knockout Bowe like he did Ruddock.

Bowe would have done a number on Lewis badly. People say Bowe was sloppy and easy to hit, well Lewis was a lot more sloppy and easy to hit, and thats why he was flattened by a guy who delivered a punch with his eyes closed and knocked around the ring by Bruno. Lewis was in no way ready for Bowe at that time.

Lewis got caught by a haymaker against an opponent he didn't respect and was looking for the early KO against. Against better opponents he respected them more and didn't risk as much

And yes Bowe was much much easier to hit and slower. See Tubbs, Holyfield, Golota, Hide - some probably landed 100punches on him. Difference is these guys didn't hit as hard as Lewis so he could get away with eating punches

No they were zero risk, low reward, not worth bothering with because the only person who's ever raised the fights is LH31 in a thinly veiled apologist stance for Bowe

Looking for the early KO against a guy who had a granite chin. I guess he didnt respect Mercer or Bruno either? No its just Lewis was not as good as you think he is and was.
Two guys who accomplished more than just about every opponent Lewis ever faced.

You seem to think because a fighter can punch, hes far more qualified or dangerous of an opponent. Wrong!

I think he could have but simply wouldn't. Lewis would probably knock him out.

Was Lewis in a tournament where he was to fight Byrd, Ruiz or the winner of Byrd/Ruiz?

Did renege on an agreement with them, throw a belt into the garbage and fight someone on the level of Dokes instead?

Just like it, i suppose if you have an agenda

    1. No he didn't respect Mercer, Bruno is better than given credit for. He respected Rudduck and Rudduck couldn't land a glove on him, same with Tucker

    2. Umm no not close really

    3. Byrd and Ruiz could neither punch or box, especially Ruiz who you've mocked yourself, neither were as good as Akiwande as boxers

Ruiz kicked Lewis ass in sparring. He respected him. He fought Ruddock like he fought everyone else up until that point.

Byrd and Ruiz were mandatories for his titles, it doesnt really matter what the circumstances are, he still avoided the fights for his own reasoning. There is no difference.

Yea ok what's it like in this parallel universe where Ruiz is a bad ass

The circumstances are though Bowe didn't fight Lewis because he would have been decapitated and Lewis didn't fight Byrd/Ruiz because he had bigger better fish to fry

    Anyway Lewis TKO2 Bowe

20 years on - no one [beside you] is critisizing Lewis for not making those minor fights

Almost everyone [beside you] is critisizing Bowe for ducking Lewis which would have been a a major fight - Hence people still talking about it now.

It is well documented, your dislike you for lewis, your unreserved admiration for Bowe - Its a pity cos Lewis answered all the questions asked of him where as Bowe left the sport with numerous questiuons hanging over him

Mcall and Rahman stretched out Lewis but Bowe couldnt. :happy

Let me post up a video of Henry Tillman beating Mike Tyson two times in the amatuers. Then we can post the pro fight.

Im not criticizing Lewis for not fighting Byrd and Ruiz, Im criticizing clueless people that somehow think Lewis is somehow on a higher ground to vacate his titles because of the so called perceived challenges. Hes a hyprocrite.
Bowe actually beat an ATG great in their prime. Lewis was laid out by two mid level contenders on both ends of his career. If anything its Lewis who didnt answer the questions and hes ranked inside the top 5 by a lot people, a place he doesnt belong. I like Lewis, I dont like his delusional fans.

Moorer beat the same atg in his prime

doesnt mean he'd ever beat Lewis

Bowes style left him being hit a lot, he never fought anyone with a dig like Lewis - stylewise I believe it would have been a bad day for Bowe

Yes I believe that Bowe would have knocked out Lennox Lewis similar to the way that Oliver McCall did.
