Berbick was nowhere near spoon in terms of power or skill .he was just a big strong bloke who just brawled Lesser fighters into submission .I watched him fight noel qaruless in Liverpool a real brawl .Bruno would have destroyed noel in the early rnds and would do the same to berbick.
When he was on his game Berbick beat Pinklon Thomas, Greg Page, John Tate, David Bey. Witherspoon lost to Thomas quite clearly and only just beat Page. Berbick was an awkward fighter. If he was just a simple brawler he wouldn't have beat those skilled fighters.
I agree, that's why Bruno faced Witherspoon. Bruno had beat Coetzee in a final eliminator for the a WBA so would have been on course for a shot anyway, even if Tubbs hadn't been paid the step aside. But I think Bruno's people would have been just as worried about Berbick, or more so. Simply for the fact that Berbick was unpredictable.

Bruno would kill Berbick, Trevor wouldn't be able to maul and brawl him like others. But Bruno would lose a tight one to Michael Spinks, but Spinks would box him to keep out of range.
