How would Lennox have fared, before his loss to Mccall, facing Buster Douglas at his best.
Say if we used Lewis from Bruno Fight?

I's this possibly Lennox s hardest fight pre steward?

Young Lennox was pretty open to mix it up and find a chin quickly. But he could box as well. Don“t see this style suiting Buster. As soon as Lennox staggers him this fight will be over in the same round.

I seriously think Douglas of the Tyson fight was for one night only, a possible threat to any heavyweight who had not brought their A game including Lennox from the Bruno fight.

His mindset was most definitely strong for the Tyson fight.

Extremely strong. He'd have walked thru walls to beat Tyson then. But it did help that Tysons head was mashed, not sayin that with out that Buster loses, but maybe all came together perfect.

Against Lennox pre loss, I give Buster a fairly good chance. Imagine Buster instead of Bruno? Lewis wld need to really come back. He had the punching power of course but would that be enough here?

Oh without doubt Tyson and his team were the architects of his losing, plus perhaps the personal tragedies/issues that befell Douglas prefight did in fact galvanize him to train hard and fight well, Mr Douglas sure deflated Tysons aura of invincibility in that Feb 1990 bout.

The Douglas of Tokyo would have been a challenge for Lewis of Bruno bout, any other time in career of Douglas i think Lewis definitely prevails.

It was a for one night only win, but it put the name of Douglas into the annals of boxing history, "Winner by way of knockout and new Heavyweight champion of the world James 'Buster' Douglas", dam to hear your name announced as such truly would be a dream come true.

I don't know... I think pre-Steward Lewis had terrible balance and his defense wasn't great, but he always had great power and good reflexes. I think pre-Steward version of L:ewis would have had exstremely slim chances against granite-chinned guys like prime Evander Holyfield, but against Douglas he could have hurt him at any given momemt of the fight. Tyson version of Douglas, though, was very, very good, and I would say he was way more skilled comparing to pre-Steward version of Lewis. He had much better balance, more versatile offense and his jab was more effective as well. Oh, and he difinitely had enough power to hurt Lewis. I can see this fight going either way, but I would heavyly favor Steward-trainder version of Lewis against Douglas

I will say this, an inspired James Buster Douglas of the Feb 11 1990 title bout against champion Mike Tyson in Tokyo, Japan would have had a good chance to beat a European stance Lennox Lewis, who was very vulnerable to a right hand, Hassim Rahman and Oliver McCall proved this. But post 1994 version of Lennox Lewis under the supervision of Emmanuel Steward, would have boxed with Douglas, then stopped him in round 11, he protected himself better.
