presuming he beats jones then he would have wins over two greats(legends), hopkins and roy jones and some pretty good fighters like kessler and lacy, and if kessler proves himself as a great it would seem even better.

At this point in time, not a chance and people are going to give you **** for even suggesting it on here my friend.

For Calzaghe to become, or even be considered, a top ten ATG he would need to beat Jones, then win a rematch with Hopkins, then KO Chad Dawson, then assuming Froch beats Pascal, Joe would have to beat Froch in a domestic clash, and THEN hope Lacy goes on to be a decent fighter, and Kessler goes on to be a minor legend (Kessler might just do that, Lacy not so much).

    calzaghe on beating jones -

    "it's been.....emotional".

  5. Top-100 is a more sensible/reasonable question.

The other is ridiculous. Joe's a fine fighter and Top-100 recognition would be a hell of an accomplishment.

A top 10 ATG? Sometimes this forum makes me want to cry. :-(

How does someone who knows so little about boxing make it onto a boxing forum??

If he beats Jones as aell as all the other top fighters in his division, then yes, he could be, but as for now, not a chance. And I am not taking a swipe at Calzaghe here... just an opinion from a boxing fan.

Does anyone seriously rank Joe higher in all-time pound-for-pound terms than Mike McCallum, who is 79th?

These rankings do not even take into account all the ATGs from prior to the last 80 years like Harry Greb and Sam Langford.

On this basis, I find it difficult to believe that Joe should make it into an all-time pound-for-pound top 100. I mean he could do, as The Ring's order is not the exact same as my own, but it's not too likely. No way in Hell he makes a top 50, that just isn't legitimate at all.

Talented fighter, pretty weak resume. Top 100 if he's lucky.

    IMO.
