The fact that Joe beat Hopkins in no way gives him an edge over Tito in all time P4P rankings. I think Joe is a better fighter than Tito overall, but Tito does have the better resume.

the biggest thing calzaghe has in his bag of tricks is what becomes of kessler - that's the million dollar question as far as he is concerned.

because kessler is the only decent fighter in his prime JC has beaten.

    I disagree.

As far as I know, Joe and Tito have only one common opponent, Bernard.

Bernard won nearly every round against Tito and stopped him.

He lost (by a good margin on two scorecards) to Joe, and had to struggle and resort to questionable tactics to last the fight.

Many felt (myself included) that a fair measure of Joe's success was the result of Bernard's age and stage of career.

Given how he subsequently performed against a peak Pavlik, that has to be re-evaluated.

I now believe that Bernard was not much further past prime than Joe was. (Different fighters age differently and Bernard was a late starter).

    This , IMO, renders

    inaccurate.

Tito has a slight edge in the overall quality of opposition faced.

But when you factor in the results, as well as who he's faced (losses to Winky, Bhop and arguably Oscar), I don't believe there's much doubt as to which man has the better resume.

how could you even argue that tito is not better than calzaghe as an atg :patsch, its just getting ridiculous.

for sttarters tito fought anyone and everyone and from an early age, became worl champion at 20 ( before joe had even turned pro) was a 3 weiht division chmpion unified title in 2 weight divisions . moved up 2 weight divisions to fight one of the best middleweight in the history of boxing ( who was at his very peak), fair enough he lost but you get more credit for going out of your weight to fight the best than not fighting the best and keeping your 0. and has fought at least 6 or 7 hof's....

joe career is ok but noot great by any stretch of the imagination, his biggest accoplishments are holding a very weak wbo title for 10 years and being undeafted. beating a very overated lacy ( who hasnt done sh!t since) but has had his best wins of last beating kessler ( i think that was a very good win, best of his career) and then just scrapping home to beat a 43 year old hopkins.

nothing against calzaghe he is a good fighter no more no less, but tito was great, and to say calzaghe is better is a joke.... you only have to look at there resumes

TRINIDAD- camacho, carr, whittaker, DLHoya, reid, vargas, joppy, mayorga+ loses to great fighters hopkins jones winky

CALZAGHE- kessler, hokins , lacy , eubank ,reid , viet, woodhall

Too late. No more chance for him to do so. He should have done more in his prime...

Even as a Calzaghe fan I will say no, top 10 is beyond Joe`s reach but I assume the thread starter probably knew this anyway.
