    Could he beat froch?

Could he go through the lhw division?

    Could he beat ward?

Could he maintain his unbeaten record?

He's old now. He could come back for one big fight but I doubt he'd pick up belts and clean a division out.

Nope. Too old, he was already showing signs of deterioration in his last few fights.

who knows. he left the game in good nick but he has been boozing and coking it up for the past 2 years. He hasn't fought in 2 years and i think he is 39 in march.

Christ no! 2 years out and boozing an' cokeing! Plus he's nearly 40.

He also showed serious signs of ageing. Left hand gone and also looked rather slower against Hopkins and Jones.
Froch and most of the sm's would kil him!

He could come back for a one off and course an upset, Froch and Ward are made for him stylistically so he would have a slight chance. The problem for Joe is he's a volume puncher with very bad hands. It shows how special he was that he continued to have great success into his mid 30's, fighters with his style erode quicker. It's his insane intangibles and adaptibilty that kept him going. It would be very difficult for him to come back and do those things the TS has laid out, he's to far set in retirement. Not sure he would even make light heavy again.

How do you think he'd deal with Froch and (more importantly) Ward?

If he came back or before he retired?

If he came back it would be very difficult, at his best he would have his way with Froch. Joe would out-hustle and make Froch look silly at times. The harder Carl tried the worse it would get for him. Calzaghe came alive the harder you fought him, Carl's lack of foot speed would be a major problem as it would enable JC to manuever around him.

Joe would also outclass Ward aswell. It would be closer then Froch but Calzaghe would still win clean and clear. Calzaghe would be too busy for Ward, he wouldn't allow him to rush in and he's just much better. People underrate how physically strong Calzaghe was, he was an animal on the inside with brillient anticipation and threw sneaky punches, which would catch Ward. He would take over and beat Ward going away and win a 8-4 type of fight.

Let me think about this...he's been taking cocaine for 2 years and has not laced a glove since and is nearing 40 years old with an aggressive style based on athleticism and volume. I'm going to say no.

I believe he could come back and boss things.

Joe Calzaghe WAS one of the most intense trainers the past 20 years. And he was gifted naturally as a athlete.

He was a better natural athlete, and more gifted than Bernard Hopkins, Glen Johnson.

All them old but still active fighters.

Only really Roy Jones Junior was more gifted than him athletically.

Yes he has been boozing, and coking up. But i would like to think that he has been doing some training, because he does not look fat or badly out of condition.

I think it would take a good 6 months of solid training, for him to come back. At first he would have to prepare, and condition his body to train..........he would have to train to train.

That would take a good 2 months.

I actually think he should comeback, to face Carl Froch.

Now that Froch is getting a deal with sky, and there is real bad blood between the two.................lets get it on.
