Could Calzaghe go for 50-0 by fighting HOPKINS, DAWSON, WRIGHT and KESSLER??

The thought MUST have gone through his head, sitting at 46-0, that he could beat Marciano's record and retire with a perfect 50-0. I know many people do, but I don't think Calzaghe has shown any signs of being well past his prime at all. He was excellent against Kessler, largely ineffective against Hopkins purely down to the fact he was facing the best defence in boxing but still had the workrate and strength to impress the judges, and solid and speedy against Jones. Although he has been floored in his last two, he was never really in trouble, he isn't slipping IMO.

Calzaghe must be aware that the main criticism of him with the fans (obviously not his own adoring fans, but boxing fans in general) is his weak resume. With that in mind and the thought that he is so close to 50-0, the thought must be going through his mind.

    - Hopkins has called him out, and interest in a rematch would be huge.
    - Kessler has called him out, and interest in a rematch would be huge.
    - Wright has called him out. That wouldn't be as big, but still a great name on the way to 50-0.
    - Dawson has called him out, and that's one of the best fights that could be made in boxing right now IMO.

Now, I personally do not believe Calzaghe could beat Hopkins in a rematch, nor do I think he would necessarily beat Dawson (I would fancy him v Wright and Kessler though), but my intention with this thread is not to discuss whether he could beat all four and get to 50-0, I'm just asking the question, do people think it's possible, do people think it's a good idea, do people think he is even considering it?

If Joe Calzaghe beat these four and retired on 50-0, he would then be beyond all criticism IMO. And in legacy/greatness terms, obviously his historical standing would rocket.

    Thoughts/opinions? :bbb

He could beat all four, i doubt winky would fight him though as he doesn't seem to want to fight anyone. Also calzaghe is obviously past his prime, i feel 5-6 years years ago calzaghe was faster and a betetr puncher but obviously we hadn't seen those skills against the level of guys he has fought more recently.
To be quite honest though if calzaghe beat all those guys most people still wouldn't be happy as he has already beat 2, winky is small and dawson is green.

You don't even think, at 46-0, the thought has crossed his mind that he could make history by retiring on 50-0??

50-0 must be some incentive though.

i dont think rematches will be wise if Joe was to continue, motivation is a big factor when you get old, I think he could do 50-0, but it wouldnt inc rematch with Hop and Kess - well not both of them anyway...

Yes calzaghe would beat all 4 of them now he has settled into the weight at light heavy,
I highly doubt he will fight all 4 though.

You think Calzaghe could beat Fedor Emilianenko though, so your opinion counts for ****.

the hunger just isn't the same as it was 2 years ago heading into the lacy bout when he'd realised the amount of time that had been wasted.

i'll be very shocked if he steps between the ropes again.

If he only has 1 last farewell in Cardiff, I want it to be B-Hop, Dawson a close second. I believe Hopkins would get the job done.
