Could Calzaghe go for 50-0 by fighting HOPKINS, DAWSON, WRIGHT and KESSLER??

I think Kessler would have a live chance if he got another go, provided he had a few things in his favor this time. For example, its not easy to go to a guys backyard infront of 50,000 fans screaming for him, especially the first time. In the moments when inspiration is needed he gets the benefit of that, whereas it feels a long way from home for Mikkel. Kessler can't possibly have failed to learn from that fight either, and he did give himself chances which he didn't fully take, so there is hope. Truthfully, Calzaghe would have to slip a bit, there wasn't evidence that has happened to the degree he could overturn 4 points. I made a thread recently that Kessler could win in 2009, but it was with that proviso.

I think Chad Dawson is a good fighter. The problem he has in that fight is how he is going to deal with the pace Calzaghe sets. He is going to look good for 3 rounds and it will go rapidly downhill based on his last performance against a pressure fighter. The questions are all on Dawson's head. Does he have the stamina to maintain his work? Are those bursts really going to discourage Calzaghe? Can he adjust things if plan A goes to **** as it did against Johnson? Is his chin poor enough that he is forced into his shell by Calzaghe's onslaught? Can he deal with Calzaghe's tricks and inside game? We know what Calzaghe brings to the table.

I'd fancy 48-2, if the 4 fights came off

He'd easily handle Wright. Probably beat Kessler and Hopkins again, unless Kessler was seriously limited by injury in their first fight, and probably NOT get by Dawson at this point. So 49-1. It's funny how things get screwed up when people get close to the 49-0 mark. Must be the curse of Marciano.:smoke :smoke

Calzaghe would be at least 49-1 coming out of these provided he was fully motivated for all.

He already beat Hopkins, and logically that fight would now take place in Wales. There is no way on earth Hopkins is getting a decision fighting like that in Wales, and there isn't a lot he can do differently. He must clinch a lot, and he can not avoid being outworked by Calzaghe. Like it or not Calzaghe will get the decision.

Winky-Wright has absolutely no chance in hell based on styles. When he puts on 8lbs he is like a hot air balloon. He shows no movement whatsoever, and Calzaghe completely negates his only strength, the jab. This is a fight where Winky-Wright plays peek-a-boo and Calzaghe throws over 1000 punches at his guard and body.

Kessler and Dawson are tough fights. It's a big ask to win both, Calzaghe is fully capable of beating Kessler as shown, and would be a favourite against Dawson too. But he could easily lost one.
