Fantasy fight: Mayweather comes back and schools him again in a bit closer fight, but Floyd still takes 8 rounds.

    Would he get robbed?

I think now Canelo and GBP are that big, that they would rob even Mayweather easily.

Based on the McNugget fight, GBP wouldn't need a robbery.

Hoya isn't a judge. The judges selected were approved by Team GGG

Floyd still has more money to spread around to the proper channels than GBP.

Canelo would destroy Mayweather now, time to move on, Floyd is finished.

Golden boy is WAY more powerful than Floyd is through boxing. Don't forget how Floyd's daddy was and brought Floyd to the big stage in the first place.

Doesn't mean the corruption and economics of boxing weren't still at play.

I feel you but it is worth pointing out how it actually works in Vegas.

It is almost certain that no explicit bribes were offered before the fight, this is not how it works in Vegas. Simply the pressure to stay in GBP's good books (ditto any other A-side / hometown fighters and promoters) is enough to create the level of bias we see in Vegas (also around the whole world). Bear in mind that the judges have quite a partial vision so if they aren't that sure about the round, possibly having missed a good deal of the action due to their angle, they give it to the A-side. Because if replays show later that they were wrong, this is the better side to err on, by far. This is also how it works in the UK and most other places, there are however more shady guys who do explicitly bribe the judges from time to time … but it's rare.

Now there actually is quite a lot of explicit corruption / fixed fights in boxing, but almost always it's through paying one guy to lose ... for the simple reason that one guy is cheaper to bribe than two or three … and it looks less suspicious. If you bribe a judge and your guy gets completely schooled and dominated the judge is in a very awkward position. Either the scheme is exposed by a robbery of robberies (yes, we get pretty bad robberies in boxing but a 12-0 fight going the other way doesn't happen much), or your scheme fails. But if you tell a fighter to ensure he loses on points, or goes down from some innocuous shot and doesn't get up, it's much harder to detect.

Man a ton of fans would like to find out! But most likely Canelo wouldn’t need a robbery this time do to the Oscar sponsored diet he’s been on and the fact he’s not the greenhorn that Floyd fought. Canelo has big fight experience and has improved in every aspect... with some help here and there of course ;)

Floyd needs to honor his word and fight McGregor in MMA like he said he would several times. What happened to that??
