This is a serious question. If Vitali came back for one last fight against Canelo, could canelo pull it off? Vitali could weigh whatever he wanted and canelo could bulk up more if he wanted. I think it's an interesting question because Canelo is in his peak and Vitali is 50 years old and hasn't fought in 9 years.
I think Canelo could win if he throws potshots here and there and then basically just runs around the ring the rest of the time. I don’t think he’s going to be able to walk Vitali down and just hold his ground and land counters. Vitali isn’t one of these former boxers who totally let themselves go and are almost unrecognizable by 50. Canelo is going to be giving up about a foot of height and tons of reach, so I think this would be a tough fight for him. I’m also assuming that Vitali would have a full training camp, rather than just going into the ring in his current condition.
****ing hell. Ever since Canelo has fixed his way past Kovalev and to undisputed at 168lb the morons are out in full force. Canelo did not beat highly ranked 154lbers (Lara) and would not beat top 154lbers +. His ability is grossly overhyped due to excessive card stacking, extreme cherrypicking and ever since his venture to 175, shameful fixes/come to lose fights.
Vitali is too busy getting ready to fight Russia. Canelo has got an excellent chin. Few fighters have anything left at 50, I think I;d lean towards Canelo in this ridiculous match up.
Totally wrong question! Should read, as both are crack golfers, could Álvarez beat Vlad over 18 holes?
