Could Canelo ever draw close to 1 mill buys with a opponent like Clottey?

    Pac vs clottey drew 900,000 buys i mean canelo is at his peak drawing power and managed to do 300,000 buys with angulo and kirland both those guys had a bigger fanbase then clottey.

    Clottey was completley uknown to the masses and had no fans and Pac at his peak managed to draw 900,000 buys.

    I would compare smith to clottey as in drawing power and canelo did 250,000 buys

    Canelo is really not a mega draw

    no not even if you add the American and mexicant tv numbers
    more ggg fans in mexico than canelhoe fans
    ggg is the fighter mexico adopted canelhoe is the fighter they put up for adoption
    whilst ggg was styling all over mexico
    canelhoe ran to puto rico
    only came back once the coast was clear

    Yes, if he had massive PPV event back to back prior to that.
    It´s no like Pacquiao just stepped in the ring and started selling million of PPVs. He build his star power after a decade of fighting the biggest names out there.
    Barrera, Marquez, Morales, De La Hoya, Cotto, Hatton.
    All of those fighters had a huge following and by beating them, he snatched some for himself.
    Canelo has so far beaten Khan and Cotto(the only two stars on his resume) and had a mega fight with Floyd.
    I wonder if Canelo should have fought smith in the UK.

    If Canelo starts speaking English fluently and stops ***** footing around the Golovkin fight he could certainly improve his PPV numbers. They should have made him speak English years ago.
