Make your best argument FOR Canelo and his decision to drop the belt. We all saw a coward ducker hoe dropping his belt without so much as a punch. But to be honest he doesn't (or didn't) seem to me like the type to chicken out of this. Put yourself in Canelo's shoes and make an argument for him where he isn't scared of GGG and this daft decision actually makes sense! :thumbsup
Purely business (read: financial). Can make more (or the same) money fighting someone who poses less risk than Golovkin.
So basically the WBC would not agree to any fight going ahead for the title at a split different than the one they had mandated? :think That's the only way that this line of reasoning works for Canelo.
He might be teetering on the spectrum of intellectually disability, and honest to goodness believe he's not a middleweight.
to be fair he was the exact opposite when he opted to fight the very low reward high risk erislandy lara to the objection from his team and promoter... he has transformed =[
So you are saying GGG deserves less than 75/25 split? So you think the 90/10 Oscar is quoted at is fair?
Easy, don't know how true though... Golovkin would not accept his terms and kept citing it was for the belt, ditch the belt and Golovkin lost his "excuse". Problem is Golovkin has no reason to fight him now.
I feel like canelo isnt responsible for the duck. He's proven in the past a willingness to fight anyone. He took on Lara when he most certainly did not have to. lara, and undefeated, slick and awkward trout stand out. that being said, fighting khan and josesito is sorta disgraceful at canelo's size.
That's how I see it as well. If he really thought that ditching the belt would get GGG to fight him at 155 then either he or those advising him have the intellect of a 5 year old :-(
That's the thing. He hasn't been like this in the past. Does he truly think that he is the new Mayweather and that the belts are irrelevant to him? Or is Oscar just giving him horrible advice? :huh
I personally fear a combination of both the possibilities you mentioned, and and that coupled with some of the opponents he's faced in the past are what lead me to believe that he isn't electing to not fight ggg due to out of fear.
You will love the Wilder / Dustin Nichols thread that I am contemplating, then: If Nichols has three dozen eggs for breakfast, and then takes Wilder on in a chili eating contest ... who barfs first? :think It could be a classic.
Sad part is that I think that Canelo isn't afraid but it's his slavemasters who are. But still Canelo should grow a pair of ***** and acually fight. The arguments that belts are meaningless only applys if you are truley the best in the divison like Floyd was then you can say **** like that. But if you are unwilling to fight the number two guy then you aren't clearly the best and the belts acually do mean something.
