Different fighters, different styles, at different weights against different versions of Roy.

Canelo is a great fighter, but being the same size as Griffin isn’t really that relevant.

Also, Roy was no hype job, and there is no evidence of him having a glass jaw. If that was the case, Del Valle would have knocked him out in his 3rd weight class.

Tarver and Johnson knocking him out at LHW isn’t evidence of him having had a glass jaw.

That left hand by Tarver would have knocked out the majority of SMW’s and LHW’s of any era.

 

Del Valle was a big southpaw up at LHW.

Canelo could never have replicated that shot.

 

We’re looking at Roy in his SMW prime at 25 years old, not a mid 30’s post HW version.
