There were a couple of uppercuts, which im sure had they landed would have ended the fight in the 10th.

Yeah I mean the refs have been so keen to stop Khan in the past

I mean just look at that, you can see Khans on really steady legs but the ref justs wants to stop it in any moment.

Read my post properly before you reply with a sacrastic comment

I said if the ref's saw A FIGHTER WOBBLED LIKE THAT they probably would have stopped it. not saying if they saw khan specificallY! If it was a standard british fight or even a low key world title fight, a british ref would have stopped that. That goes for the body shot in round 1 aswel

Come on in the past we've seen some crazy early stoppages in the uk where as soon as a fighter is slightly hurt they leap on top of them and wave it off.

Of course in the prescott fight they couldnt stop it early. khan is the hometown guy and the favourite if they stopped it early there would have been outrage

if it was a Frank Warren show & Maidana was a FW fighter than the FW ref would have stopped it.

If it had been stopped he couldnt really have complained. His guard needs some serious work as Maidana got through it with the uppercut all night. When you have the speed advantage and reach advantage as much as Amir did it should not be as tough as he made it. Great fight though :)

It depends wholly upon whether the fighter belongs to the promoter of the event or not.

if it was maidana getting wobbled around and battered against the ropes he would have stopped it and gotten the Khan win under way.

Some refs give the champ more of a shot.

Nah. At one point, after Khan had taken several hard shots, he wobbled across the ring stood on the ropes with his hands down, waiting for Maidana to lunge in with a big punch, before ducking and sidestepping to leave Maidana to go head first through the ropes. If you're thinking enough to do that then you should be allowed to continue
