But hadn't Mayweather already said he wasn't interested and that a Cotto fight made no sense for him BEFORE Arum targeted DLH?

Same question Eze....as I recall, PBF had already said Cotto wouldn't sell prior to this and AFTER Cotto beat Mosley.

I dont remember Floyd saying that. I'd have to see it. But if he did say that, it would prove my final point. Cotto should build himself into a star for Floyd-Cotto to be a mega fight.


I just dont like how its okay for Cotto to want DLH for money but wrong to Floyd to do so.

 

I never criticized PBF going for it the first time (Cotto would be doing the same here). But going for it AGAIN?

No one has answered my question yet. All the statements by Arum about Cotto-DLH came after PBF said Cotto was not marketable after he beat Mosley and that he wouldn't fight him? Seems Cotto's choices are reactions to PBF dismissing him as an opponent.

For the record, I think PBF wins that fight. But he should fight him.

I don't buy that at all. The ONLY fighters Cotto can fight that can take him to that next level are DLH and PBF. Hatton didn't have to wait to be that big of a star. Outside of PBF, DLH, and Pacquiao, there are no bigger stars in boxing. So that doesn't go over well with me.

 

Zoo wanted a showdown with Gatti on PPV. Floyd went after Gattis title to take Gattis place in the PPV showdown. Too bad Zoo didn't beat Hatton.

 

Like I said, I never saw it, so I dont know for sure on that.


I think Cotto-DLH should happen with Floyd taking that time off that he wanted. Then Floyd-Cotto afterwards.


Both Floyd and Cotto are going after money, Floyd just happen to get a deal first.

Floyd-Baldomir did 325.

Cotto could only do 35k more in buys with Mosley.

Both man are walking through different paths. It's not only Mayweather fault that Cotto-Mayweather is not happening. It is also not only Cotto's fault.

 

I remember that Gatti-Mayweather winner (Gatti was the Ring 140 #1 contender) was going to fight the Tszyu-Hatton winner. Tszyu lost against Hatton and retired.
