Bruno's wins over McCall and old Bugner are better than anything that Haye has done. They are not amazing wins but in comparison to Hayes resume they are good wins. Bruno being able to stun iron chinned Mike Tyson is better than anything Haye has done. Hell the fact that he actually got in the ring with Tyson twice is better than anything Hayes done or attempted ... Haye would duck Tyson his entire career if they were in the same era.
Tyson was all over the place without Rooney, Bugner wa too old when he fought Frank, McCall wa awful, Chisora would have battered McCall, Oliver did nothing v Frank but plod forwards with ho jab or head movement.
McCall was rubbish, he offreed nothing in that figt, all Frank did in that bout wa pump a jab and some right hands with his hands up then held on to McCall for dear life when he gassed in the final round.
An unfocused likely undertrained Tyson is leagues above Chisora. Chisora is just a big strong guy and that's it. Chisora "battering" McCall?? Lol. Too funny man ... Way too funny .... McCall would ice Chisora ... He would barely be a journeyman in the 90s. If Chisora and Valuev are your best wins then you don't have a good resume at heavyweight.
McCall has wins over 4 former world champions in Lewis Holmes Maskeav and Akinwande. He certainly not awful.
He wasn’t awful. Neither Haye nor Bruno has an especially good resume at heavyweight though. But it’s for different reasons: Bruno lost to anyone above McCall’s level whereas injuries did in Haye’s career. He never was able to finish a training camp for a fight against a green Fury, which he might’ve won.
I'm not so sure. Its debatable in my opinion. He does have a win over two former champion. Ruiz is 2x champion who holds 2 wins over Holyfield and Valuev was also a champion. Whether or not Valuevs skills were up to par or not he was 7 foot 300lbs and beat a few good fighters...Holyfield included. Not to mention Chisora. So i will most def put his wins over Ruiz, Valuev and Chisora up there with McCall and an old Bugner.
If the wins over Ruiz and Valeuv count , then so do Tony Bellew's wins against Haye. In that case Bruno > Bellew.. Frank KO4
Yes Haye did at times try to actually get inside and land something big, but not enough. I do agree that both men lacked initiative and were wary of each other. I wasn't trying to make Wladmir out to be the aggressor trying to chase Haye down. What I mean by Haye fighting to survive is that after realizing how dangerous of a puncher and how big Wladmir was, he decided to coast to a decision loss. Similarly, when Wladmir realized how fast and athletic Haye was and that he could get countered or blasted out by opening up, he went back to his usual jab and clinch tactics despite all the pre fight aggression and trash talk.
Mark, Chisora doesn't have any wins as good as McCall, Bugner, or Coetzee. Even Carl Williams would easily be one of Chisora's top 5 wins. Bruno has a way better resume than C level Chisora. Prime Bruno was roughly low-mid B level. In terms of h2h, the only things Chisora has over Bruno is a better gas tank and better inside fighting skills. Bruno's jab is is way, way better and he has a much better right hand and defense. Chisora is basically a dollar store modern sized Frazier with only 1/4 of the intensity and skill.
Seen Chisora fight much Mark? He’s a glorified journeyman simply put. He isn’t good enough to batter McCall (who wasn’t anything special but still better than Del Boy ever was or will be).
he was that night. he couldn't have done any worse had he turned up in a dressing gown and laid out on a lounger in the middle of wembley with a pina colada in his right hand.
