You can argue that the past ATGs would be too small to compete...And I think Dempsey has more flaws & holes in his resume than most any of them.
But when you start being gratuitously sarcastic & nasty you lose credibility.
That is biased & a personal attack.
And using language like "no talent joke" is not debating any facts or supporting arguments with details-it is mere name calling.

Also the aggressor betrays carelessness & prejudice when he lies about or is delusional about basics like size.
Consistently using smaller #s than reality for these prime fighters...Tunny is an example, was ~ or in the 190's when he hit HW, but is dismissed as 180, then 170-that is an unbalanced or dishionest desccription.

Despite Willard's weight being listed in this very thread, he is downgraded to 230.
If you cannot be real about the basic well-established facts, & cannot argue without infantile contempt & mockery...

Why should we think your opinions are worthy & well-reasoned, & why bother to engage a noxious bomb-thrower?

    The Golden Rule.

If you want to be a troll, you need to be more entertaining.

I’ll concede that point. Not everyone is built to move up.

I just reviewed the Michael Hunter-Alexander "The Great" Ustinov.
Hunter was outweighed by nearly 75 pounds, but battered the glacial Ustinov
all over the ring to a 9th round TKO.

If Hunter, a good, experienced but not ATG, 200 pound HW can beat a Super Heavy weight in
Willard like fashion, I don't see why Dempsey couldn't beat Super Heavies. Maybe not all of them,
maybe not to a belt, but would certainly be "competitive", which is that this thread is about.

Charr, Chisora, Whyte, Pulev….Dempsey would put on 10 -15 pounds and would be competitive with them. End of.

Ustinov is 41,11 years older than Hunter, maybe that had some impact on the result?

Honestly I think Jack Dempsey would do to Fury what he did to Willard.

With all respect to Jack I don't see him measuring up ti the best of the best. Second tier, sure but the top guys , no.

Good chance but there's also a very good chance the likes of Wilder and Joshua knock him spark out.

First of all, who are "Modern Super Heavies" ??? Definition, Please !
Otherwise i never understand the McVey type scepticism considering -i think- Valuev was significantly bigger than the "Modern Super Heavies" -what a magic ass-licking phrase, omg !!! - and he was beatable by two "small" players.
These two players - Haye "The Glass Chinned " and Chagaev "The Fat" - were far away from Dempsey's greatness.
So, can you imagine my answer ? Dempsey could...

No. He's always been slow with his punches and his feet. Hunter simply was too fast for him, and I think Dempsey would also be too fast for some of the bigger guys, again with his feet AND punches. I mean how else is a little guy going to win? Not going to stand and slug with the bigger man.

I will simply say that today's heavyweight era is far more dangerous than Dempsey's era. Can you seriously imagine the likes of Gibbons, Miske, Carpentier and Firpo squaring off against Wilder or Joshua... Wlad or Vitali... Bowe or Lewis?

A third rate SHW like Ustinov? Sure, probably. But again we are talking about a 3rd rate talent not an elite SHW.

Probably not, but it wouldn't be because of skill level.
