Could Dirrell ever have beaten the Cobra?

I'll never sit through that garbage again. I had Dirrell edging it, but as a fighter, he needed to realize they weren't fighting in my living room.

I was rooting for Dirrell, and it still sticks in my craw how dumb the fight plan was. You can't fight like you're the home fighter when you're in the other guy's back yard and expect to win. In Detroit, he'd have won handily. Problem: he wasn't fighting in Detroit and didn't adjust to that at all.

The last time I was that frustrated was Lara-Alvarez.

In each case, all the loser had to do was let his hands go a bit more to seal the deal. Instead, they fought like they were the money fighters who got the benefit of the doubt, and paid for their delusions. Dumb tactics handed over utterly winnable fights. It's annoying because Andre had the tools to do much, much better....but I guess that just reinforces the "what could've been" narrative of Dirrell if things had turned out differently. The irony is he learned from that and really opened up on Abraham, looking great in most of that fight until the foul.

    He already did.

It was one of the more blatant robberies Ive seen in a world title fight

I would have loved to have seen the punch stats from that fight, but could never find them.

Froch barely landed a punch all night despite all his "aggression"

I can't agree with this at all.

I think the fight was a blatant robbery.

I made a thread on this last year.

In a lot of rounds there was little action, but Andre was feinting and constantly making Carl miss, and then countering him.

Carl was basically awarded for his aggression and pressure. But he constantly got outboxed.

It just goes to show you how subjective boxing is, because I think it's absolutely laughable that you gave Carl 6 rounds.

He did and was robbed. If they fought in a neutral place, he would of won.
