I think Eubank would give Hopkins a lot of problems, in fact.. a prime Eubank would give anyone problems. I wouldn't be all surprised to see him beat B-Hop.

Why do people always have to bring calzaghe in a hopkins thread?

Eubank would cause anybody problems, but I would still back Hopkins. Real shame they didn't get it on.

prime eubank would have given hopkins fits. theres 9 occasions that hopkins has gotten into the ring and not been good enough to beat his opponent. do you seriously think that eubank wouldn't have joined this list? :nut

hopkins has never beaten an elite fighter at a fair weight in his entire career :deal

seriously, what hopkins victim would have been good enough to beat eubank, name one? :patsch

if hopkins had of beat eubank, it would have been the best victory of his entire career :deal

What elite opponent did Hagler beat at a fair weight in his career?

Eubank was life and death with several opponents that Hopkins would have taken a **** on. Who did Eubank beat that would beat Hopkins?

You don't even believe half of this. How are you doing my Headbanging friend?

listen up egghead, hopkins beat trinidad - wow, this is a great win because trinidad had beaten william joppy :nut whoopie-do, joppy was the definition of average in the weakest middleweight era in history, tell me what joppys top 5 victories are so we can get a measure of his greatness.

trinidad had already been knocked down 7 times as a welterweight for ****s sake, tell me what you thought about trinidads performance at middleweight against winky wright :lol:

as for hagler, i barely here anyone give credit on here for his victory over duran, the fact that duran did so well is used more as a tool to praise duran than vice versa. the fact that duran still went on to win a middleweight title at the age of 37, 6 years after he fought hagler speaks volumes for the calibre of duran.

as for thomas hearns, give me a ****ing break you fragile ****ing egghead :nut

who would win at 160 in thomas hearns v felix trinidad? hearns would have demolished trinidad. look at the difference in natural size and suitablility for that weight. after the hagler fight, hearns went on not only to win a middleweight title, but a title at 168, and then kicked virgil hill ass to win a title at 175 :patsch

now tell me what did trindad go on to do at 160 and above?

hopkins resume is best defined by the facts below

    trinidad
    prime weight = welterweight (147)
fought hopkins at middleweight (159) :deal
trinidads record at middleweight or above from hopkins onwards = 2 wins / 3 defeats

    winky wright
prime weight - light middleweight (154)
fought hopkins at - 170 lbs :deal
in 57 fights, the hopkins fight was the only fight that wright had weighed over 160 lbs (a full 10lbs difference)

    de la hoya
    prime weight - welterweight (140lbs)
fought hopkins at - middleweight (160lbs) :deal
de la hoya only fought twice in his career at middleweight out of 45 fights -1 win / 1 loss - the win was a very debatable decision over eurobum felix sturm

    pavlik
prime weight - middleweight (160 lbs)
fought hopkins at - 170 lbs :deal
in 34 fights pavlik had only fought 2 minnions at the beginning of his career at 169. all pavliks fights since hopkins have been at the 160 limit.

    tarver
    prime weight 175
great 2 weight jump from hopkins and his best win despite tarver being a b-level fighter and going 3 wins / 3 losses from hopkins onwards.

    johnson
prime weight -super mid / light heavy (162 to 175)
fought hopkins at - middleweight (160)
    johnsons record at 160 + from hopkins onwards - 19 wins / 15 defeats / 2 draws
the defeats have come against people of the level of ottke, woods, shieka, gonzales, harmon, branco, vanderpool, Kiwanuka, sosa

seriously, quit your delusional, blinkered bull****, turn the laptop off, and log off forever.

You left out beating Pascal in Canada at age 46:p
You can basically do the same to hagler and monzon, allthough I dont rate Hopkins higher than them it is strange he gets much criticism compared to them.
Maybe because he is still active or because people dislike him:think
Dominating the division and beating up overconfident welters that are making a jump is basically what middleweight kings do.
Adding some good wins above 160 while past 40 only adds up to that.

I was actually being nice to you and this is what I get back? You've been Boxrec daft for an eternity, brother.

The bottom line is you don't like Hopkins so you go through his career with a microscope to downplay his achievements. You say he didn't beat an elite fighter at a fair weight and then almost have heart failure when I apply the same parameters to Hagler's career.

If I take Calzaghe's resume (who you've been blowing since birth) then I can make a mockery of him professionally in exactly the same way. You can use biased arguments and shift weights around all you like but the end result is always the same; "You look ******ed downplaying a great fighter's career."

Still like to know what "elite" fighter Hagler beat at a fair weight but I guess it has escaped you?

PS - Sucking off Duran and Hearns when they were NOT FIGHTING AT THEIR BEST WEIGHT was ****in hilarious considering your prior argument.

And STILL a Total ****in Plank! HEADBANGER!!!!!!!!!!!

haglers wins over minter, antuofermo twice, obelmejias twice, roldan, and hamsho are all better than any any natural middleweight that hopkins beat.

haglers victory over hearns is also better than anything on hopkins entire resume.

eubanks victory over benn is a better win than anything on hopkins resume.

do you think that eubank would have drawn with shite like mercado

do you think that eubank would lose to clinton mitchell :nut

do you think that eubank would throw himself out of a ring like a complete ***** v robert allan :rofl

do you think that eubank would have lost to jermain taylor twice :patsch

do you think that eubank would have feigned a shouler injury v chad dawson when there was **** all wrong with him :crybaby

so basically you failed to address any points that i made

you ignored every single fact :rofl

you ignored every single question :dead

and all you said back was "blah blah, ****ing blah" :-(

why you now wanting to turn this into a calzaghe thread :huh

calzaghe already has 2 better win on his resume than anything on hopkins resume in eubank and kessler :deal

calzaghe also has a win over hopkins, despite calzaghe
    - fighting at a new weight for the 1st time
    - fighting on hopkins territory
    - fighting with the hopkins corrupt referee joe cortez
    - fighting with 3 american judges
