With his love of money and fitness i wouldn't write it off. I think floyds pride will keep him going for many years to come. I said this in a thread saying "will he be the greatest". I think this is his only chance now. A defeat and a fight abroad would enhance his legacy too. Im not his biggest fan but he still has some time on his hands.

Nope. Doesn't have the physical toughness to perform longer the way Hopkins has.

nah, Floyd has very solid fundamentals and technique. Right now he relies on a mix of reaction, speed and fundamentals, as his reaction time fades he'll step up the defensive / fundamental part of his game to compensate. I don't see him getting stopped a bunch of times like Roy.

maidana froze his legs and if he sticks around he will be facing better fighters than maidana. hell, maidana was countering floyds pull counter... successfully.

He still beat Maidana by a comfortable margin (both fights). I'm not saying it's impossible for him to lose -- after all, Hops has lost a few here and there. What I'm saying is he has the technique and defensive acumen (plus a willingness to fight a little dirty when the situation calls for it) that he could have a longer career if he so chooses. I just don't see him getting starched a bunch of times like Roy has.

I think if he loses he might, but he values that 0 too much.

If he loses, then he could do a Hopkins.
Even in his 40's Mayweather would win more often than he'd lose.
If Floyd loses soon, it might be the best thing for him.
He could just keep fighting and he'd school the young kids coming through.
Mayweather is a smart fighter, he has clearly slowed - yet is still winning relatively easy.

:good I always thought Mayweather would've ended up being greater if they had given the 1st Castillo fight the other way. That 0 is likely the main reason why Floyd is unwilling to seriously challenge himself.

Nope, Mayweather jr will NEVER do a Hopkins, Hopkins with 65 fights and at age 49 Hopkins is going against a dangerous puncher in Kovalev. :deal

Another year off for Mayweather, and.... The one accuses Pac being on steroids.

I wouldn't be surprised if you are right, if he doesn't fight Pacquiao, Thurman or GGG .. sure he can go 50-0
