One guy has one good night with a high amount of punches against Mayweather and everyone thinks that is the best method to beat him.
Taylor gets picked a part coming inside against Mayweather with counter punches.

That's true. You can never be too certain of an outcome prior to it's taking place. One good whack to the head with that walking cane of his...

I don't know if I'd go that far. He looks pretty harmless from the pic he sent me:

I agree with Herbert, Shake's scoreboard is nonsense. If things keep going that way this in on pace to be a robbery of Whitaker/Ramirezesque proportions. The old man brought up another good point though: What kind of man would I be to quit in the middle of the ring during one of my biggest tests? :thinkI can't for the life of me think of any decent comparisons. Oh wait...

It's a shame too, those stomach cramps wouldn't have been an issue with a pair of Ultra Strength Depends. He should've just taken your lead.

I'll quote from that great movie "The Cincinati Kid" where the young pretender Cincinnati Kid tries to take down the "Man" in winner takes all high stakes poker, he thinks he has the old man on the ropes & just as he thinks his moment has come he's GUTTED, he had no idea he was being led in by the nose to be wrecked & shredded. As the shattered/duped & stunned Cincinnati Kid just stared & gapped, the MAN said these immortal words:

    oscar winning quote:
You're good, kid, but as long as I'm around you're second best. You might as well learn to live with it:deal

    TAXI FOR SWEET-PEE,
    TAXI FOR SWEET-PEE.

    Next upstart contender please:smoke

    This is absolute rubbish.

Floyd has consistently shown a defence capable of dealing with punches in bunches, whether it's with footwork, parrying, headmovement and reflexes. In his fight against Jesus Chavez, he dealt with more than 2 or 3 punches at time ... in fact, there are sequences of him against the ropes, parrying and slipping volleys of shots, perhaps 10 plus consecutive punches at times ... the same goes for the fight with N'Dou. Look at any Floyd highlight video and see, for yourself, how many times he admires his own defence against the ropes, allowing opponents to punch at him, whilst he slips, ducks and dodges the shots.

It's a lie to suggest that Floyd cannot deal with more than two or three shots at a time, especially when there is tape to prove that he has dealt with 6 or 7 at a time. It's Taylor's handspeed that make it harder for Floyd, not the mere fact that it's more than 2 or 3 at a time.

Floyd is a better ring general, has more ring intelligence, adaptability, skills and the underrated ability to go out there and manifest the will of his corner round after round. When Floyd starts off being tagged and Roger tells him to go to the body and break Meldrick down, does anyone honestly think that Floyd won't switch the game up? Does anyone think that Floyd won't time Taylor and start nailing him with what is a good right hand counter? Does anyone honestly believe that Taylor is good enough to have his own way with a fighter such as Floyd who is more than capable of adapting to a fighter's habits, physical prowess in addition to Floyd imposing himself down the stretch?

Floyd might not be everyone's cup of tea and at times, he has carried himself with class not befitting a man of his talents, but he is better than many give him credit for, likewise, not the second coming as some would make him out. The man is better than Meldrick IMO ... a better and smarter fighter, with more strings to his pugilistic bow.

:lol:That's a fine movie quote, on that subject here's one of my favorites from the movie Clerks, slightly rephrashed to fit this occasion:

"**** Duranimal used to say 'What's better, ****in', a good plate with nothin' on it... ' no wait I ****ed up.... 'What's a good plate with nothing on it?"

    "Meaning?"

"I dunno, he was all senile and ****, used to ****in' **** himself all the time, and **** himself."

Bingo, and I'd be rooting for Taylor if this fight happened. The bottom line is, Floyd's ring intelligence and adaptability give him the edge over Taylor's handspeed, considering his workrate would be nullified by Floyd's footspeed and defense. He'd land some shots no doubt, but rarely would he land with anything big, whereas Floyd would be landing the crisper, cleaner counters off the ropes and even in the exchanges. Sorry, but Floyd is capable of winning this fight wherever it goes once he's fully adjusted his gameplan. He is too smart a fighter to lose to a guy who relies primarily on his physical tools.
