atsch Oh dear, you of the "old school" training mentality in the training forum. Just......shut up please, as NO ONE has any interest in your comments. Thank you.
No chance has FMJ in a MMA Octagon. Neither would most boxers really - as its too one dimensional - the boxer would be taken down to the ground and pounded on the floor or more likely choked or armbarred out of there n tap inside the 1st round! I much prefer boxing to watch as its more asthetically pleasing...but alas no the MMA guy submits the boxer in most cases. And any boxer in there IMO, to have any chance with the 1 dimensional way that boxing is would have to be a Tyson or someone like him ie big KO power and fast hands. Your light hitting boxers that win alot of their fights going 12 rounds would be in so much trouble. On the other hand the flip side is that the same would happen in a boxing ring - if MMA guys wanted to cross over n get themselves a boxing license I'm sure they could...but they know that despite boxing having much bigger $ purses that they wouldnt have the skills to deal with a great pro boxer. The would be outclassed and if in with a half decent puncher KO'd very early.
I disagree with this part. Compared to wrestling moves that come second nature to guys that have wrestled since highschool, submission holds are learned in a relatively short period of time. So Floyd could possibly learn these just as well as his competition but it would take a couple of years to perfect them. Furthermore, unlike wrestling MMA does not focus on pinning so If he gets taken down Floyd will have at least as good a punching from the ground. Anyone can use their knees, elbows, and learn choke holds quickly.
Arent very good at what? Clearly you have no idea what youre talking about. Put BJ Penn in with Floyd and you'll see "very good". Floyd wouldnt last a minute in a cage with Penn. That not a knock on Floyd.. its just not what Floyd does.
PBF would get ****ing stomped into mince meat. Even his father thinks so as well. Floyd should stay away from MMA.
yes i think he could be very successful. It is a faster paced fight. He will not learn mma overnight but his standup and quickness will definately give him a HUGE advantage on anyone. He might not even have to worry about going to the ground if he can take his opponents out stnading. They use the smaller gloves which floyd would most likely knock anyone out with.
Could Floyd Mayweather Jr Be succesful in MMA? Anything is possible but probably not I'd guess. If Floyd ever fought in UFC or something I think I'd lose a lot of respect for him.
