Could Floyd really lose to someone who drew with Peterson and lost to Maidana?

Pacman lost to Morales, Marquez, and others. Castillo lost to Soto, Jauregui, and others and he arguably beat Floyd. You really think Maidana would beat todays version of Ortiz? I dont think so. In 2 yrs people can change alot. I think Ortiz takes 2-3 rounds. The exchanges will be dangerous and right hook from Ortiz will be only thing Floyd has to watch out for.

 

Floyd beat an old aggressive lightweight (while him weighing as MW) via a boring UD. So its anything but a KO for Floyd.

 

I still say Maidana beats Ortiz. Ortiz may be able to drag the fight out longer, but his weakness is pressure fighters with a decent right hand

maidana's style would always trouble ortiz. ortiz might have improved ove rthe last two years but ti doesn't mean he would threaten floyd's "0". there's a reaon why floyd decided to come out of his vacation and wants to fight him.

 

even ortiz fans doesn't think floyd would lose. they are just pinning their hopes that floyd's inactivity would make him lose some step but we all saw that it didn't happened in the marquez fight.

people are just hoping for a competitive fight but there is no real chance that floyd's "0" is in real danger for this fight.

 

Should be a great fight. Mayweather will win but how will he? I know Ortiz is gonna come for that ass and he wont back down. even if Mayweather knocks him down he still gonna come via Berto fight. this is a dangerous fight being that Ortiz is a southpaw and will be the bigger man come fight night. youth,heart, man I cant wait!!

 

I agree with you, Ortiz is the best opponent at 147 for Floyd except Pacquiao but I don't see it being as competative as some people are thinking it will be.

I think people are making more of his win against Berto than they should be and maybe that is what is getting everyone excited. I hope I'm wrong and we all get to see a great fight but I think Ortiz will try to swarm early on and then slowly get picked apart by Mayweather.

The upside to this is that it makes Pacquiao v Mayweather a slightly more realistic prospect than it has been (emphasis on slightly though). I think it is an attempt to get a bit more practice in against a decent southpaw that can punch a bit.

 

I don't think he can, especially as Ortiz's flaws play right into Floyd's strengths. But Ortiz is the fish of day, it's a fight that's justifiable, Floyd is fighting the #2 rated welter. I'm more interested to see the result of Berto-Zaveck tho, I heard that was going to happen. If Zaveck wins that would change a lot of people's perception on Ortiz win over Berto.
