Their has never been anyone like GEORGE FOREMAN. Not til; not since.. I remember! Tex Cobb very "gritty"/tough. WE'LL NEVER KNOW OF COURSE! I mean, he "compares" w/TMorr., \\\good chance NO. Possible! The Holmes fight in a way groomed his legacy of course! FOREMAN FROM "OUT OF THIS WORLD". ALI....."changed the course of history" w/that kegg he shoved in there!
No, not in a legitimate contest. George would need to box and move in this situation. Cuts and swelling would be a non factor. Tex was not a bleeder. He'd end this one unmarked. It wasn't just Randy's chin, but his body which was absorbing 180 degree spinning back kicks from John Jackson. No way Foreman's hardest punching power can come close to the kicks and spinning backhands Jackson repeatedly landed flush on Cobb's head and body as Tex kept moving on in right through them. This one's staying in mid ring, where George showed he could move in and out and utilize angles when the situation called for it. Shavers really hammered Cobb's body to no avail. I expect Foreman to realize early on that he can't stop Tex, and change his tactics accordingly to aim for the decision fairly quickly. When he realized he couldn't knock Ali out in the fifth round, the air went outta him, and the outcome was a formality. But he'd be able to test Randy enough early to turn towards the final bell before shooting his bolt, bringing out the Peralta playbook. Good mid ring scrum would see both keying their best straight punch, their jabs. George has a better one from a more mobile platform.
I don't think Randy had the power to do this, but his swarming work rate in Dokes II was impressive, and if he tires George like Ali did in Kinshasa, Foreman will begin retreating in response. We never saw anybody do it to George, but if he gets fatigued, Tex has the combination of stamina, physical strength and work rate to force Foreman into a retreat for the duration of the contest he won't be able to stop. Cobb overpowered Dokes (beefed up to 226) in their abbreviated rematch the same way George did the similarly chiseled Tommy Morrison. Early on, I think there would be something of a standoff, as Foreman discovered gridiron lineman Randall to be a taller version of the block of granite Chuvalo was. Past the fifth round, George would start getting tired. Tex's best punch was his slow but heavy jab, and it would puff Foreman's right eye, facial damage Cobb was not susceptible to. This is going to be attrition, not a great situation for George. Shavers blasted Randy to the body, but it was Earnie who faded.
