What are the odds of this happening? Kesseler is the far better boxer, the faster handed fighter, and all around more athletic. He possess superior technique in virtually every area, the only edge I believe Froch has is power and perhaps overall ruggedness. The assumption of many, myself included, is that Kesseler will soundly outbox Froch and quite possibly TKO him. Better analysts than me have given their reasons for this. In contradiction though, Froch's mentality of doing whatever it takes to win cannot be denied. If he was to get Kesseler into a dogfight with him or force a stand and trade stanza, would Kesseler be the one on the floor? Or this is just one-in-a-million, anything can happen kind of thinking?
Anybody can get knocked out if they are reckless. And with Froch's power you can't discount it. I wouldn't bet on it, but you can never say never.
Froch is a hard hitter. He would have to close the distance, if Kessler is doing the jab game. But yes, no fighter is invulnerable. I find it very unlikely though. It would need to be a one-punch KO for it to happen.
This fight will be a WAR!!! Anyone could win. Will put plenty of miles on both fighter's clocks. Hoping to get to Copenhagen for this one:happy
I think Froch's power is quite overrated just like his chin. He has 1 KO in 3 at world class in the last minute against an exhausted opponent, and he didn't even get close to stopping Pascal or Dirrell when he was fancied to.
i think even in a firefight kessler comes through on top, he throws much straighter than froch and would land more often
Well see how Kessler looks against Ward. I could very well be that he's fallen off a bit. But to be honest I know Froch got laughed off this board when he said he was going to box Kessler. I think people took that the wrong way. When Froch boxes (i.e. fights in a controlled mannerr using the jab to set up the right hand) he is most affective. His jab keeps his opponents off balance and his powershots wear his opponent down and win him rounds. just like he did in both the Pascal win and the Taylor win. Thats probably his best strategy.
****, this is boxing and anything can happen but I think Kessler is too smart and too skilled but you never know. The best way to beat Kessler is pressure but I don't think Froch had the speed and angles to do a Calzaghe on him at all.
I've seen stranger things in boxing than froch stopping Kessler, but it is not likely at all. I can not imagine Froch doing well against any fighter with good fundamentals who can crack a bit. His offense is sloppy, and his defense is worse. A guy with good fundamentals who can bang will just stay in the pocket and 1-2 froch half to death.
If he is good enough to constantly connect hard and long enough to KO an "on-form" Kessler then yes he can.
If I can buy a ticket to the lottery picking six random numbers between 1 to 49 and they come out of the lottery machine for the date I choose them to then I will win a lot of money.
