    How does this fight go?
I see a war for the ages with Kov finally wearing Froch down and stopping him late in 10.
I wouldn't pick many people over Froch in a war but Kovs power is frightening.

Kovalev has the power to KO anyone at the weight but he's still unproven at the top level. KOing Cleverly doesn't mean he will KO Froch. Froch isn't the geatest defensively but is very tough and experienced and we haven't really seen how Kovalev reacts to being hit back. Tough to call but I'll go with the more proven fighter in Froch. Good match up.

I would love to see this fight.

  4. No way. Froch's chin is the same hype as Cleverly's. Let him face the first puncher and his chin is shattered.

People are just hyping Kov up way too much. Froch has proven he is one of the best. Wait till Kov steps in the ring with Hopkins or Ward.

What a stupid forum this has become. Yet no names to be compared with world class boxers like Froch. Kovalev nice win over Cleverly, but who the **** was Cleverly in boxing?

Hopkins and Ward are very good defensively and Kovalev would potentially find it hard to land on them. Froch is more open to be hit, he is a kind of fighter who will take a shot to give a harder one back. But Froch isn't a big SMW, Kovalev is perhaps the biggest puncher a weightclass above Froch. Usually Froch is the tougher, more powerful guy in the ring which gives him an advantage in wars but I don't know if he can do that against such a big hitter in Kovalev. No matter how good your chin is, you can't take too many shots from a massive puncher.

Styles make fights. It would be an intriguing fight.

kOVALEV AT 175 WOULD BREAK FROCH IN HALF. At 168 maybe a good fight? WARD vs KOVALEV best fight that can be made, true 50/50. Ward is better boxer by a little Kovalev is better puncher by a little more.

Kovalev's power is one thing but he can box very well also, he barely takes a a hard shot either. I'm a big Froch fan but Kovalev is dangerous, I'd probably put my money on him to win via KO.

I'm not sure about that, I'm gonna lean towards no though. Kovalev's one-punch power doesn't seem as vicious as his combination punching...but Froch would be there to get hit by combinations. He's not a defensive wizard nor is he quick. He'd also be the smaller fighter.

    Kovalev would beat Froch.

When over-the-hill Kessler decided to pressure Froch in his previous fight, he was getting tagged constantly.

Froch is near the end of the career and I think he's past his best. He was showing some stamina issues in his last fight and his reaction speed wasn't as good as he used to be.

If we were to match up Kessler vs Kovalev, everyone would say a Kovalev KO, but Kessler only lost by 2 rounds to Froch in the rematch. Froch isn't that much better. He too would get KO'ed, being the smaller man and slowing reaction speed.

Froch has very good durability but I don't believe he goes the distance.

No shame in it, Kova isn't in his weightclass and -appears- to be an extraordinary puncher.
