Could Froch v Kessler be one sided? Or is it guaranteed to be close?

Hope it is a good fight but the way Kessler's looked in the last couple of fights can see Froch outboxing him pretty comfortably in a dull fight, possibly livened up if he goes for the stoppage late.

Everytime I start to think it will be close maybe Kessler might take it I remember him getting knocked down by Allan Green.

This is one of those fights that's too difficult to call. I go from thinking Froch win by KO to thinking Kessler on points. I'm not sure Kesslers eyes will hold up so I'm sticking with a mid to late round stoppage.

I've gone back and forth on this and I'm leaning towards Froch now. I have a feeling that you may see a Hatton vs Tsyzu (sp?) type performance where Kessler has aged just a bit too much to handle the tempo and intensity.

It'll be close, I'm not expecting a blow-out, but I really think Froch has the focus and determination to stop Kessler late.

I initially thought that Froch would just edge it on points, but now I'm thinking that Kessler's corner retire him on his stool sometime in the late rounds, and he retires from the sport after this fight. I just think that Kessler has accumulated too much damage over his career, and that Froch's crazy intensity will be too much for him this time around. I hope I'm wrong though.

Both fighters want the stoppage and both think they need it to be sure to win. Both fighters will want to move forward, avoid walking backwards and stay off the ropes. So it would be tempting to think they'll have a war in the centre of the ring for a knockout before the limit.

However, Froch is a lot smarter and able that people give him credit for.

I expect him to counterpunch Kessler just like he counterpunched Bute.

Kessler will still want to come forward.

Froch can push him back after a few combinations.

Still, Kessler has worked on better headmovement and on avoiding punches close in. He will be looking to counterpunch Froch as Froch moves forward, and push him back.

Kessler will go to the body more and so might Froch.

Kessler will take more risks and sit down on his punches more to give himself a chance of hurting Froch.

This is an interesting fight. I expect it to be close until it catches fire. After that, I don't expect it to be so close anymore.

Even though I expect it to be quite tactical for the first few rounds, I also expect it to catch fire as both try to cut the other fighter down and hurt him.

    So, I've got:

    Froch TKO 30%
    Froch decision 30%
    - draw - 5% (tempting to go bigger on this, but there will be a winner one way or the other)
    Kessler decision 15%
    Kessler TKO 20%

At first i thought Froch would win on points as i think Kessler is slightly on the decline but after cleverly on bunces boxing hour im going to say Froch by KO in the first half of the fight

The things Kessler did to offset Froch are still there. Froch is maybe a little fresher and his style ages better than Mikkel's sharp-shooting jab/right game. It depends if Froch wants to take risks early on and go at it with Kessler, hoping to wear him down.

    Mikkel's a tough ******* though.

I don't know. I thought Kessler has aged but he looks like he's come here to win. Hard to call this one.

From day one I have believed Kessler is close to being shot.

I've seen nothing to convince me otherwise.

Froch stops him late or makes Kessler quit on his stool
