Also he didnt have his normal bouncy castle ring against Jennings to slow opponent down, that he was getting used to fighting all those defences in Germany

And at the time people started all that nonsense that Jennings would be the next big thing at HW. Same Jennings who got dropped and almost KOed by wooden Dimitrenko.

Prime Wlad would have turned Fury's lights out.

We're talking about the guy that dominated the division for a decade, as opposed to the 40 year old guy who had come off a stinker vs Jennings and who had a bat**** crazy wife at home with his baby. The fact is that Fury / Wlad was an extremely boring slow paced fight that was not a domination in any way.

In the 12th when Wlad opened up the taps Fury looked discomfited and was clearly unhappy in dealing with an aggressive Wladimir. This is quite reminiscent of the Fury / Wilder fight where Fury worked out the approach to take in the rematch.

The fact that Fury took the win and ran, ducking out of his agreed-upon rematch shows very well that TF knew he was going to lose the second fight and that he didn't like what he'd seen in the 12th.

Prime Wlad sends him back to the sauna.

It was a very tactical affair, so of course a younger Wlad with sharper reflexes would have done better. Who knows how it would have turned out.

Listen what Peter Fury told his nephew before the 12th round:

"Tyson, go for the KO! Knock him out! Because of the point deduction i am not sure if we are still in front here. Dont forget we are foreigners here. Forget the defense, go out now and bring the fight to him."

Not word to word but something like that.

The 12th round only became more explosive because Fury wanted it that way, he got the instruction from his uncle to KO Wlad in the 12th round.

And watch the round again. It was all in all very even. Fury won the first part of the round, Wlad the second part.

I was just replying what Lewis himself stated. He said multiple times he would break Fury down late, around the 10th round.

Hmm.. Kinda doubt it. When Wlad was on his winning streak, he was as confident as any HW. Fury would fight him differently then he did the old Wlad.

But is current Fury better than Fury in Wlad fight? In his last fight he got beat up by Wallin.
Also, prime Wlad was never gun shy vs relatively light hitting opponents. He had no respect for Thompson for example.

Wlad didn't have the ring IQ to deal with Fury. Wlad was great, but he was specialized and one dimensional, with no ability to adapt and switch up his game plan mid-fight. Fury the bigger man, with the better movement, better ability to use angles, and ability to punch on the move, would beat any version of Wlad.
Fury vs Vitali is the much more interesting fight.

It was Wlad that was the aggressor in the 12th

Actually now that you say that it kinda does seem similar. Wlad did state he saw some sort of weakness in Fury during round 12 when he got agressive against him and claimed he was going to take a lot more risks and get much more agressive against Fury in the rematch.

Similar to how Fury saw a weakness in wilder when he started walking him down in round 12 and exposed his weakness in the rematch by using the kronk style to pressure wilder and beat him down.

That makes me think that Wlad might have actually won the rematch if it happened.

    Too bad it didnt

Not only do I not pick him against a prime Wlad... I am not sure Id pick him had they had an immediate rematch.

Im not convinced that Fury beats the Wlad that showed up for AJ.
