He could easily make SFW and set up a fight against Burns.

Looking at his hight and how fleshy he is, if he had a training camp without cutting the corners and working with on his conditioning with a nutritionist on side he could set up some awesome clashes a feather.

However I don't think he would have the discipline to do it.

A fight with Burns would be good. In fact 130 is pretty weak, he should
give it a go, saying that he uses his size to his advantage against the bigger guys at 135 and an advantage in hand/footspeed.

If he had a decent engine I'd favour him against Mitchell and Murray. But he always gases badly, he needs to address this, maybe getting in better shape would do this, I dunno. He's certainly in better shape now than he was at 140, that was stupid him being that high, and he still acquitted himself well.

    Good fighter Rees IMO.

Seems perfect at 135......... other tall fighters like Amir Khan might be too weak.

No way. Ree's was somewhat of an il disciplined 140 lbder. There's no way he makes that low a weight. He looks great when he is in shape mind you.

He seemed to carry alot of weight on his back. No way would he work hard enough to get down to a career weight which he should of been fighting at in first place. He did campaign there for a while then obviously went up for reasons we all know.

Tbh i think Gavin's happy with life. He's earning decent money beating people up and can spend money on food and drink and have a laugh. He's a simple lad and you can't knock someone for not wanting to fulfill talent. It's there life afterall even though makes you think what if etc.

i personally think his stamina is worse at lightweight than it was at light welter. he can no longer keep the pressure on for a whole fight like he did when he won his world title. they need to find out what is wrong and fast.

After seeing Rees this weekend, I wouldn't give him much of a chance in with either Murray or Mitchell. He might be dangerous early on, but I think that they would weather that and end up either stopping him late or taking a pretty comfortable decision. I rated Rees previously, but was very disappointed with him at the weekend. If he gasses under so little pressure, to the point where he gets that shaky, then he is in trouble messing with guys at a higher level. I fear he does not have an ideal weight class, it happens to some fighters.
