If a prime Holmes were put in Foreman’s shoes he doesn’t even win the title to begin with. Goes home from Jamaica minus his ribs & straight back into a job as Ali’s spit boy.

Never has an all-time great fighter won so much adulation, by beating so few of note.

Maybe - but If you put Ali in Foreman shoes he too doesn’t win the title? What’s your point? Ali needed to lose the first fight to learn something, Larry would do the same if he had to like all good fighters.

I would pick Ali at his peak to beat 1973 Frazier, personally.

Absolutely, I think Ali would be more flashy than he was in any of his fights with Joe, though I don't see Ali stopping him. Probably a non-blow out UD.

If we're talking 69 to 71 Frazier, even the best (Williams) Ali loses imo.

We will never know as the only versions of Frazier Ali beat were shot and when Joe wasn’t he beat him from pillar to post.

    I agree on both counts.

Young was different from Holmes; Young was a better defensive fighter, and Young did get hurt by Foremans right hand.
Which one of Holmes toughest opponents would have beaten Foreman- don't say Norton. The toughest opponents in Holmes prime/era were the opponents Holmes avoided.

Sound like a perfect description for Foreman
