    1) It was fought at 140lbs.
    2) Officiated by relaxed ref, who allowed clinching, bullying and dirty tactics
    3) It was fought in Manchester.

    Thoughts?

i honestly believe he could. yes the fight may have seemed at home for hatton due to the amount of fans but it still is not the same. a different ref could of made a difference. and hatton is a different fighter at 140 but even so i think your clutching at straws

    Yes

Dave Parris would be the prime candidate, top ref

My thread titled "All-American conspiracy" details the various cheating tactics that cost Ricky

Yes I think he could, would still be a very tough ask but if you had a ref who first of all allowed what he said he was going to allow before the fight (see the referee in both dressing rooms before the fight). didnt allow PBF's turn your back defence (which is against queensbury by the way). Hattons camp pick the gloves, ring size and weight stipulations this time and its fought at 10pm UK time for a UK audience in Manchester MEN arena. So basicallt evening up everything Floyd had for the first fight then yes he can.

    no.

floyd beats hatton every single time. a vast gulf in class, hatton should get his arse back down to 140.

Anything's possible. Would I bet on him? Absolutely not. Mayweather gave Hatton every opportunity. If Ricky was able to actually box on the inside, he might have stood a chance. Instead he just tried to wrestle him, and we all saw how that turned out.

Gave Hatton every opportunity? he chose the weight, the glove size, the ring size

The fight is over - Ricky lost in a good fight. Nothing that's said or written will change the outcome - so let it go. :dead

Oscar did the same thing with Mayweather:

Choosing - Ring Size, Gloves, & Weight - and he still lost.

    What's your point? :fire

Under those circumstances it wouldn't even be a boxing match it would be more like a wrestling match like it was with Tszyu. If u let him hold like that maybe Hatton could pull one off but i still think Hatton would fade and PBF wouldnt and thats what would lead to his demise again in the last half of the fight.

it sounds like rickys fans want to see him in MMA, not boxing.

He chose punchers gloves, which could only help Ricky (obviously helped Floyd as well). He chose 147; it shouldn't be too difficult to fight at a weight closer to your natural.

Anyway, Floyd gave Ricky every opportunity inside the ring. He laid on the ropes, exactly where Hatton needed him to be, but unfortunately for Poor Ricky, he has absolutely ZERO boxing ability, and was relying on bullying tactics to win another fight. Didn’t work so well against the Mayweathers strong will and smart ring tactics.

    Mayweather was better at 140lbs

Mayweather is more effective with "dirty tactics" and inside fighting then Hatton

What would that matter, all his fans were here anyway.

They could fight in a telephone booth on the moon, Mayweather still wins :deal
