Malignaggi was featherfisted and was supposed to lose against Hatton without putting up too much of a fight.

    Odds were almost 3/1

Would this thread even exist if Bradley was from Europe?

He has one good, though not great win, against Witter. He's done nothing and shown nothing to suggest he can beat the best in the division.

Not this **** again. Kessler is European and there a bunch of threads about how him beating everyone from 175 on down. This despite the fact that got beat handidly by Calzaghe and despite the fact that his best win to date was against Mundine. Furthermore, who the hell had Hatton beat before Tszyu? All it takes is one good win to get noticed in this sport. Bradley has a chance for another big win when he takes on Holt.

witter-hatton is a well documented long time, bitter rivalry. their **** hit the fan way before either got near the world scene.

I thought Bradely looked really good. Decent dig , good fitness , aggressive and he got my respect for coming to Witters back yard (and very nearly getting jobbed !). At this moment though I'd go for Hatton, mainly based on experience and perhaps Hatton not being quite as easy to hit as some think. Give it 6 months - a year then that might well be reversed though.

Then where are all the threads about Witter vs Hatton now?

Bradley is the #1 contender to Hatton at 140 and therefore the thread of Hatton vs Bradley have nothing to with wether Bradley is European.

The bitterness and rivalry in this case was all one way though and stemmed from Witter's pathological jealousy of Hatton. Hatton just saw him as a source of amusement, keep dangling like a puppet boy who knows you may get your big chance when daddy decides it's time. It's like those Bolton Wanderers fans who will swear blind that their biggest rivals are Manchester United. Of course some of the Hatton haters latched onto him for their own purposes but he will still be completely forgotten about ten years from now.

Witter ain't a bad win for Bradley, but it is the only one worth a damn on his resume. Let's see him beat someone else decent (Holt wouldn't be a bad start) before we talk about him fighting the likes of Hatton. He did impress me in the Witter fight for what it's worth and looked a tough little customer.

This thread is not could bradley beat hatton but could hatton EVEN beat bradley.

Thats very different from a typical A vs B thread.

there is no demand for the fight since witter lost. i was not agreeing with the sentiments of mancmexican but your example was a poor one.

You guys are completely missing the point of my comment.

Read the thread title again 'Could Hatton even beat Tim Bradley'

This is not a conventional thread, 'Who Wins, Bradley vs Hatton'

The OP is clearly over-hyping his boy and implying the 140 champ would be the underdog.

    Hence my comment.

They were 5/2 I think which is not a particularly big margin. By contrast, Bradley was 9-1 to beat Witter (just as a pertinent example). He had put up a very good show against Cotto and there were plenty on this board who thought he not only would put up a fight but had the beating of Hatton. True he is featherfisted but then Bradley ain't exactly Julian Jackson!

no he wasn't he was 7/4 and that was in the UK where hatton would have been backed a lot more than in the states. do you just make this stuff up?

i must say that hatton is massively underrated on this board, he goes into every fight, with people saying he'll get outclassed etc and hasn't even come close to losing at 140. who has bradley fought yet? witter who looked as bad as i've ever seen him, very lethargic and barely throwing punches and a former lightweight in cherry who's got 6 losses in 24 fights.

and from this people are saying he'll outmuscle and outclass hatton? lol
