Could Hatton won his fight with Mayweather if the referee was not Joe cortez?

    He would've needed different judges too. The three guys keeping score were really liking what Mayweather was doing.

    The referee doesnt matter,Floyd Mayweather would have still KO Hatton regardless,Floyd is just the way better fighter!!,and if they were 2 even have the rematch in england,it will be the same result!!

    Nope, Cortez immediately started breaking up them as soon as they clinched. Fair enough, but then he changed how he was handling the fight midway thru. A cynic would say it was because he realised Mayweather could hold his own, maybe even outdo Hatton with the rough stuff on the inside.

    The KO would have happened regardless refs simply because even before the KO came he had already hit Hatton with the same left hook when Hatton tried to throw. I remember at least two other times where he caught Ricky lunging in and he hit him with it.....there are some good vids on u-tube you can watch......i believe one of them was in the first round where their feet got tangled and Floyd stumbled.

    Considering Hatton won a single round at best and landed barely a significant punch in the fight I don't see how he'd win.

    If the ref allowed him to work inside..then what? Mayweather was destroying him on the inside.

    Obviously I'm not TFFP but I think you're spot on.

    I personally was surprised at how comfortable Mayweather was on the inside and how well he handled himself in close. He never looked out of his league on the inside.

    On the outside Hatton had more success surprisingly.

    I think he did rough Floyd up really well for the 1st couple, but after that..... not really.

    I gave him a share of the 1st and 2nd rounds plus the 5th....

    Hatton ever, ever comes even close to beating Mayweather. Even if the fight was at his Mom's house and his Dad was the ref, Hatton would still loose (and likley get knocked the **** out)
