I find it hard to fathom that Margarito wouldn't get KO'd against Hearns.

SRL he faced elite ATG talent(Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Benitez) and elite ATG punchers (Hearns) and prevailed. Margo hasn't fought anyone in that class. :deal

Within 4 or 5 rounds. Margo is way too wide open to survive any longer.

De La Hoya maybe stops him, but on cuts. He would not knockout Margarito. He wasn't a serious puncher at welterweight. I'd term De La Hoya a 'good' puncher at that particular weight. Clean knockouts were few and far between.

This might surprise some. De La Hoya IMO wasn't a chilling hitter at any weight. He certainly never had 'Hearns like' power at lightweight. He couldn't knockout and Hernadez, who retired after his nose was shattered by an uppercut, and was more than wobbled during the fight. I don't think De La Hoya could knockout a prime Duran.

Hearns would take him out fairly early, Margarito defence is cover the body and let the chin protect itself, Hearn takes him out of there real early like Duran

This is one of the funniest threads ever...

What the **** are you pondering?

Look at that video of Hearns that was posted in this thread... Margarito hasn't fought anyone; I repeat ANYONE who comes close to the SPEED, POWER, and SKILL that Hearns has. And then you add the fact that Hearns has a ****in chin, was built for 15 rounds, and is 6'1".

Margarito would eat the dirt in 4 rounds tops. Especially with the way he starts so slowly.

    Could? Absolutely.

    Would? Probably not.

Hearns would probably box in a fight like this IMO.

Hearns could have KO'd Margarito, DLH, Tito, Shane, Floyd Jr., and Mayorga @ 147. He has serious power to go with tremendous skill and size.
