Without a shadow of a doubt Hearns would school Cantina.

Yup, I think he could've done it by the later rounds after some extreme right hand accumulation.

You do have a point there.

But speed is a big advantage Tommy would have in a fight like this, so if he stunned Margo at any point, he would be able to finish and I think he would go for it.

Can't believe this is 9 pages, for anyone to think Margo would survive v Hearns knows little of boxing, and Hearns. Add to that the difference in competition/talent pool in the current WW div to the 80's is insane.

Margo took Clotty, Wiliams, Cintron, Cotto's shots, well that's great today. Which one of those would have been a threat in the 80's, none is the answer.

I like Margo, but guys get educated, he has not been in with anything like Hearns. Also how would Margo deal with actually fighting at 147, not having a day and a half to get up to mid 150's.

He may survive 12 , I give it a 10-20% chance at most.

Not much to add to this that hasn't been already said except that I agree with Bewareofdawg in this fact: Is the welterweight division really that deep today that a fighter with Margo's obvious flaws has not yet been exposed? I really can't see him coming out on top against the welters of the 90's let alone the 70/early 80's. I think prime Hoya and/or Trinidad ko's Marg. Prime Hearns sends Margo's jaw flying onto Larry Merchant's lap.

Yes. Hearns possessed one of the greatest right hands in boxing's history. Legitimate one punch KO power, quick and deadly. Margarito has the chin, but is hittable (too hittable I admit) and, at 147, Hearns was a beast. He'd repeatedly land that right hand of his and down (and out) Margo would be.

Hearns KO Power still translated up in weight...Which is something that doesn't happen to often from WW for christ sake.....Margarito has a granite chin, but gets hits way to ****ing much to deal with Hearns speed and KO power over a 12rd fight.

What happened to Pipino Cuevas is exactly what would happen to Margarito.
