That and, oh yeah, Tyson actually had a hell of a chin on him.

Only while Tyson was either A) sleeping or B) screwing several of his 3,000 conquered women. Not to mention the men he had in prison.

2004 Tyson that fought Danny Williams ends Hearns in the opening round.

90' Tyson vs Hearns isn't worth thinking about.

Tyson snaps Hearns in half. Hagler and Barkley had Hearns on drunken ***** Street. Tyson would level Hearns so bad a stretcher would probably be needed. Fig

I am a Hearns fan but this is too much weight for Tommy to overcome. I would be surprised if the fight with Tyson would go 3 rounds.

    A Tyson jab decapitates Hearns.

Hearns has the punch to stun and maybe hurt him but that's it.Tyson eats him alive..The reason why I say this is because years ago Hearns was sparing with Ali,and Hearns stunned him.Not that he would ever have a chance though.

Hearns was possibly the hardest puncher in history from welter to jr.middle. But that doesn't mean he ko's the average trained club fighting heavy, Much less a world class Tyson. Almost any version of Tyson destroys Hearns within a rd.

How could Tommy get into the third round when top 10 big heavies often couldn't as well as an ATG light heavyweight in Spinks who took a great punch at 175. The likes of Hagler and Monzon and numerous ATG light heavyweights wouldn't make the third.

I affirm the judgement of most everyone here.
Hearns could have been a LHW earlier in his prime, so maybe he would have been better in ABSOLUTE terms then than ever-but not as good as he was relative to his peers below MW.

Hearns did not have the frame or punching power to beat a good HW.
Let alone Tyson anywhere near his prime.

Jimmy Wilde, 5'2" & up to 112 vs. Tyson, lol!

Hearns against Tyson would not be a fair fight.
If Tyson went all out & Hearns given a 100 Million dollars for lasting 3 full rounds-assuming a lot of clinching was not allowed, but allowed to run...

I would still favor Tyson to get him out of there within the 9 minutes of action.

Hearns would look like Paulie Malignaggi trying to hurt Tyson. Tyson took lots of flush right hands from Lennox Lewis before going down. Lewis had devastating power as a heavyweight. Hearns's right hands would be like mosquito's, not to mention that this would be over faster than Tyson vs Marvis Frazier.

Actually, the thought or idea in 1991 of Hearns fighting Tyson was made by Hearns. Hearns said after he fought Hill that if Mike gets down to 200 pounds he would fight him. Well people are assuming Hearns was 100 percent serious, but he was sort of throwing it out there to Mike. in that setting of 200 pounds it could be done and maybe Hearns could win if Mike is weakened. Hearns never said he would fight the 220 pound Tyson. As for my comment if we are talking about normal weight Mike.
I said I would be surprised if it got into the 3rd round which could mean the 3rd round would be a complete stretch but not out of the realm of the possible. I do put out the good possibility that Hearns could get a couple of rounds into the fight. Tyson in 1991, not Tyson in 1986. With Tommy's style and jab when he is defensive, he can go a few rounds possibly and dropping in the right. Hurting Mike? Probably not, but he would have to fight a perfect fight to go that long and maybe stun Mike a little. Using his jab and well placed right hands and holding. Spinks- he somehow went into a shell and tried to throw his right and pulled back fast so he was not countered. He was very gunshy. With Emanuel in his corner Hearns could make it interesting. More than Spinks or Hagler or Monzon could. Yes. Going further than 3- I doubt it Mike works on the body. Hearns had a 78 and a half inch reach. If he used it properly it would be interesting for a short time.
