I actually think Corbett is throwing pretty straight punches in this clip ... not to mention in fantastic shape for 52 ...

Menzoda you have never boxed competitively, you told me that yourself . Try and adhere to the truth.
Does anyone in the US, apart from you ,use the word dolt?
It went out of everyday usage with terms like poltroon, cad ,and bounder.
I know your grasp of the English language is tenuous at best but, did you learn it from Alfred Lord Tennyson ,or ,from reading Mallory's "Morte D'Arthur "perhaps?
"By my faith, methinks yonder fellow is a nincompoop".
You read the title ,but were unable to interpret its intention ?
You ,challenging me to a fight from the safety of a key board ,a continent away?

    Fearless thats what you are.:good
I am 62 in a few months ,but I would bet I could take a ,pompous ,patronising, illiterate, self important, up his own arse, c .u next. Tuesday , like you without too much trouble.
Let me know if you ever land in the home of the English Language, and of the Prize Ring , I will be happy to meet your self inflated arrival.
I thought you were the one who advised me not to beleive all I read in books?
Or does that apply only when it is something favourable to Jack Johnson ,or derogatory to Jim " Davy Crockett "Jeffries?
I have watched Ali work out in LONDON, haven't seen " HOLEMS" though.
I have a pair of horse hair gloves hanging on the wall in my study, let me tell you they were available in all sizes and weights up to 18ozs.
    Shows what you know.
This post of yours is unusually vitriolic, even by your ponderous standards, did my correction of you using the word Century, when, properly applied, the term is Centenary, get under your smug skin?
    I just bet it did.
Stay well, my little punch bag,you keep me amused more than you can imagine.

Do you realize, when you get agitated, your spelling deteriorates accordingly?
Take your time, say the words as you write them, you know it makes sense:lol:

    Jeffries had thermal legs? :huh

Larger or slower fighters? Jeffries never fought a top big man ,the closest he got was Ruhlin.200lbs.
Ruhlin was knocked cold in 6 rds by Fitz, kod in 1rd by Sharkey, stopped in 16 by Yank Kenney ,[a Johnson sparring partner],and, kod in 3rds by 9 fight Colin Bell.
In 2, 20rd fights Ruhlin went the distance with Jeffries in the 1st encounter ,and was retired by his corner after the 6th rd in the 2nd
Do you refer to Jeffries stopping his sparring partner, Kennedy ? Big Deal
    See you soon ,Mendozy.:hi:
    Of coruse I will.

Old Jim looks very spry and fleet of foot here ,for his age, but hardly a heavyweight dreadnought.
This clip shows McCoy telegraphing his leads so Jim can counter,so it is fixed just like their real fight was

Sandy Ferguson sounds like he would have fitted right into the current scene.

Please show me proof the Corbett vs. McCoy fight was fixed. :deal And proof is not what one internet site says. The news read I read says there was some heating fighting going on there. Which authority of the times not involved in the match said it was a fix?

In the above clip, Corbett still shows sharp reflexes, and good feinting ability past his 50th birthday.

I have read that article before. Its excellent. The article, which was written in that time line sums it up perfectly. The white hopes who got title shots from Johnson would have been raw meat if matched vs. the champions before him.

Please show me proof ANY fight is fixed ,do you think they sign an affidavit before hand ie?" I, Norman Selby, AKA as Charles Kid McCoy,do solemnly swear that the fight I am about to engage in with Mr James Corbett is to be a fixed one , ie, the result has been pre -determined".

"Some heating fight going on", something wrong with the pipes was there?:rofl
They should have sent for Marvin Hart, he was a plumber before he took up boxing.
You are out of your depth, and out of your class ,but still good for a chuckle, Dozyman, .Be seeing you:hi:

"The Corbett fight was the subject of controversy, as the ending was suspect and Corbett's estranged wife claimed the bout was fixed. That became the general opinion among New York sportwriters". Wikipedia.

"It seems certain that McCoy faked the knockout loss to win bets" .Box rec.

    Mcvey,

If you ever research the topic ( In most cases you don't ) you will see this fight was one that had plenty of hard hitting action to it. I find it hilarious that you will pick and choose your Internet one liners. For example you will never quote the Cyber Boxing Zone when they say Jack Johnson vs. Jim Johnson was 20 round, but will pick a one liner up as in the Corbett vs, Kid McCoy fight was fixed.

I have helped you a bit by writing down Sullivan's record. So what is it in Iron Mikes record that leads you to believe that iron mike is the won tha scores the KO with prime sullivan.
Is it the 6 rnd no decision fight with Patsy Cardiff - Because mike has more than his share of 6rnd NDs on his record if any of his fights were dropped down to 6 rounders. Or is it his last three past prime fights, which would have been all 15 round decission, because again, Mike's past prime results against McBride, Williams and Lewis do not look all that flash. Maybe it was Tug Wilson going the 4 round distance?
