What do you think, could the very best of our Enry beat Primo? Whilst there's a few European heavy s thru that Cooper could have beat, would he have been good enough to beat the big guy?
Both European both bums Carnera he did okay didn’t he? He got belted up by less then Cooper he licked better guys then Cooper though. Cooper didn’t beat anybody. It is a fight I’d want to see. I’d have KO’d Carnera but Henry gives me pause he might’ve survived, Cowardly British instincts would keep him from describing the ceiling to me. All these shows would be worth the nickels.
Sure, why not? He's more organised, more compact, he's a puncher in his own right, I think he probably has the stylistic advantage. Might get bowled about a bit though, I think he'd lose more often than not.
Sure Cooper has a puncher's chance. If he manages to connect a hook like the one he did Ali, it is goodnight Primo.
I don't see Henry Cooper's face holding up against Primo. And Primo went 84 fights before he was stopped the first time by Baer, who couldn't keep Primo down. I don't see Cooper doing better.
Could 'Our Enery' have KO'd Carnera, yes sure he could have, however would Cooper be even allowed to try, guys in suits 'suggesting' that Cooper (or any opponent) take a loss or dive. Could he yes, would he is another question.
Check Coop’s record for world class opponents he actually knocked out. Not rsf’s, rtd’s but counted out, the complete 10. I guarantee you, an adding machine won’t be necessary!
Anything is possible, but I think it is unlikely. I think that Carnera would just get that pawing jab in his face, and maul him to a clear points win, or perhaps a cuts stoppage.
If Canera got careless and Cooper landed as cleanly as he did young Ali. Of course Cooper can ko Canera.
He could convince Primo to stop fighting if he gave him enough hooks to the face but more often than not Carnera wins on points or via cuts with his jab. Primo's backward moving and jabbing would make him tough to reach, and even when Henry landed, Carnera could take a punch well. If he can take Baer's right on a broken ankle for 11 rounds, I think he can handle the odd Henry Hook every now and then. He went 6 against Louis when most people were done after 2 rounds.
Yes,although Primo was most susceptible the the right hand punch.Carnera was floored by a light heavyweight in France.
