Could Hopkins beat Dawson?

I'm pretty sure he could. I actually wouldn't mind this fight if Calzhage beats RJJ, which I think he will.

 

Not sure. Dawson has a lot of speed, and a high workrate: both things that make Hopkins very uncomfortable. Plus, he's 6'3", a natural LHW, and young. I never count Hopkins out, but it would definitely not be a replay of either the Tarver or the Pavlik fight.

 

Sure he could,saturdays's performance shows that he could,he can fight for 12 rounds.But it won't happen.Hopkins=HBO fighter,Dawson=Showtime fighter

 

Dawson isn't pavlik:-( he's bigger, faster, more athletic, and a better all around fighter, Hops would lose this one..

Dawson by unanimous decision no doubt. He has too much movement for Hopkins. WAY too busy. KP was out of his league and weight class. Calm down people.

Tough call, I have it at 50/50 at this point. While Dawson does have some things that can give Hopkins a tough night, Hopkins pin point accuracy and top notch ring generalship may just be enough to beat the physically gifted Dawson, if Jones loses to Calzaghe, look for this fight to happen in 09.

If Johnson was able to defend Dawson and hit him seemingly at will with the right hand, how would someone who has better defense and a better right hand fair?

Hopkins if he looks for the KO like he did vs Pavlik probably stops Dawson.
