Hopkins can do the same thing to Dawson that he did to Calzaghe, except Dawson has a weaker chin and doesn't like to be crowded, held or presured.

    Couldnt be more wrong.

His shell coming in allowed him to pick off alot of the workrate of Dawson....go watch the fight again. And he was coming forward, not using movement, imagine how much lower Dawson's workrate is when the fighter isnt right in front of him...like Adamek, Johnson and Tarver were?

Dawson is a fine fighter...but he is ridiculously sucesptable to right hands...be it counter or lead. Because of this, Johnson was able to land his right at will...and hurt Dawson on a couple occasions. Johnson's right isnt half as accurate, half as well timed or half as good as Bernard's.

Hopkins takes this fight (meaning if Calzaghe beats Jones...which will make this the fight that makes the most sense) either by T/KO or WIDE decision with Dawson tasting the canvas at least once.

I think he has a pretty good chance at beating Dawson, but it would be much tougher than his fight against Pavlik imo.

No it doesnt. glen Johnson of later is a better fighter than he was back then. that fight with hopkins taught him alot. Glen was what 20-0 when he fought a prime b-hop (which I might add was the best b-hop you will ever see). Now that brings up another point. Who the **** in their right mind would pick dawson over a prime hopkins? Because that is what you are basically implying with that stupid analogy you just typed. We are talking about a old hopkins now (who struggled against joe which is an excellent boxer) against a young prime dawson. Expect a shut out. BET ON A SHUTOUT. Dawson UD 12. and btw, this fight will be made cause chad knows he can beat hopkins.

no chance none whatsoever. Dont let all the Kelly hype cloud your judgment on b-hop. It wasnt so much hopkins being that good as it was kelly really being that bad (and when i say 'bad' I mean it in a technical sense not in a 'he had a bad night' way). We all saw the flaws with kelly from way back. Hell jermain gave him problems in the rematch and he aint exactly fleet footed. This was expected.

Dawson is a tough matchup for Hopkins but at the same time Dawson has hever seen skills like Hopkins' in the ring. Hopkins will take advantage of Dawsons' inexperience just like he did against Pavlik and can possibly beat him.

My statement was only about Johnson. Dawson was winning that fight easily early landing combinations but Johnsons good chin, workrate and willingness to come forward made that a tough fight for Dawson.

Where in your mind do you believe that hopkins will crowd or pressure chad? chad is a much bigger man. Hell adamek who is a god damn cruiser wasnt able to push him around what makes you think the smaller guy will? Chad will be dancing around him all night anyways. Hops is too old for that and he has got to know this. You and alot of others are seriously underestimating chad's skill in there and they have been since the adamek fight. The damn polak is going to probably unify cruiser too just to show you how good chad is.

If people are gauging this fight based on Pavlik/Hopkins, they are fooling themselves.

    a. he will go for the KO early
    b. he will clinch and hold as defense
    c. he will clinch and hold after throwing a right

he's going to mess with dawson's head. dawson is a much stronger and yonger fighter but he doesn't know how to get out of the way of punches nor fight backwards.
every time tarver touched dawson he looked like he was going to **** a brick, only difference is that hopkins won't let him get away like tarver did.

if Hopkins doesn't get to him early it'll be a Dawson SD, maybe.

LOL! Glen Johnson was 32 - 0 when he lost to Hopkins. You talk like he was some up and coming prospect.

And Johnson again was able land at will with his right hand on Dawson...something Hopkins does WAY better than Johnson. And because of this, he was able to hurt Dawson and make the fight razor thin. And you dont think Hopkins...who does everything BETTER than Johnson cant win a round?

    :huh

I mean all of that sounds good till the bell rings right? Whatever man I can see you are living in fantasy land where hopkins is 30 years old again so I wont even begin to fight your points.

At will? I dont know what fight you saw but it was not at will. Glenn got beat pretty handidly imo. Chad never lost his composure in there and that speaks volumes about how he will handle and OLD past it hopkins. Razor thin my ****ing ass. You and Glenn might be the only ones to think that. Chad had the clear UD in that one bro.
