could hopkins have beaten calzaghe had he been more agressive?

even as a calzaghe fan from wales, i cant understand how hopkins managed to lose the fight

even in the corners of both fighters after round 11, hopkins corner saying he winning and joe's dad saying joe losing the fight

was this just miscalculation from hopkin's corner and he decided not to be as aggressive or was he just dead tired

he seemed to be controlling the fight but just kept backing off despite joe's punches not having anything behind them

    what you guys think?

I thought Bhop won the fight but if he was more active it would have been clearly in his favour.

I gave Joe the nod, very close...

If Hopkins had been more active I truly believe he would have won the fight.

i get that people think he would have clearly won had he been more active, but any ideas on why he wasn't

was he just worried about joe's punch output or did he think he was winning by a big margin or was he just tired

I honestly think he was tired, but also probably thought he was winning.

No, If he had been more agressive, he would have got tired faster than he did. If Joe could have really thrown that left hand he could have got him out of there in the later rounds. I thought Joe won by 4 rounds, and minus 1 point from the knockdown.

Enzo in the corner, was telling Joe he could knock him out in round8 and 9.

well he actually said either u stop him or he's gunna stop you

and after round 11 he told joe it was over and that he had to knock him out to win the fight

Bhop gets a major pass on esb for his inactivity. He has put together some of the most boring matches under heavyweight of all time for a champion. He also displayed a lot of ***** behavior in the calzaghe fight. JC deserved the win clearly IMO.

maybe hopkins would have won if he was more aggressive - but then he would not be hopkins. might as well as would hopkins have won if he was a better boxer - but at the end of the day he could not keep up with calazghe's pace and by the end of the fight was cheating to get extra time to get his breath back.

:huh feather fisted joe was going to knock out hopkins? is that why of his supposed 232 punches landed hopkins didn't have a single bruise to show. hopkins beat calzaghe, and would've easily beat him in a rematch. now he's too old.

Bernard Hopkins was in condition for the Joe Calzaghe fight, but during training camp....i believe he prepared wrong.

I think Mentally he underestimated Joe Calzaghe, and he thought Joe Calzaghe was some ******ed one demensional white boy...! who would not be able to handle some movement and rough house tatics, mixed with afew pot shots.

    Hopkins made a big mistake..!

You don't stop Joe Calzaghe in his tracks with 1 shot, or some movement........sorry mate.

    It takes sustained heavy, attacks....!

And Bernard Hopkins was not up to it..!!
