Toney on paper was the much better man

    Better resume
Best p4p chin of all time
    Better fundamentals
    Hits cleaner
    Arguably harder too

But Roy was unlike any other boxer we've ever seen

2 best boxers of the generation

Tennis that is an extreme & unfair opinion.

Many American's are cheaters in the top rung of sports. So are tons of other citizens, & the Soviet Bloc was using even more systematically. You chose 2 out of 3 examples from a sport that is amongst the dirtiest around, & it is doubtful that many individuals even near the top echelon there are clean.
It is dubious how many also-rans or 2nd tier athletes in endurance cycling are clean, when sports like this & those demanding extreme strength & bodybuilding have such a huge benefit to doping, & very hard to compete successfully clean. While there are substrances & blood tranfusions that cannot even be detected.

I could name numerous athletes from around the world who are dirty.

It is fair to try to determine when someone was juicing & give or remove credit accordingly. Don't be a nationalist bigot.

Roy Jones was An all around better fighter than Toney period, at 160-168- 200 whatever...

The Jones that beat Ruiz in 2003- would have put an ass whuppin on Toney at heavyweight also, considering in 2003 Toney went life and death with Jirov in an extremely close fight..

Same old, same old with you.

Roy bypassed CW to go to HW.

After the Ruiz fight, Roy wanted to defend against Evander, which was almost made.

Only an idiot could criticise Roy for not wanting to fight Toney again.

Was the 94 fight not convincing enough?

I don't even know what the fock you are talking about??- Yea in 1994 Roy whipped his ass, pretty convincingly, so yea he proved he was the better fighter
also Toney FAILED 2 drug tests for steriods, i don't ever recall Roy failing a drug test:huh..
Toney was weight drained in 94- yea who's fault was that:lol:, Roy didn't hold him down and shove pizza don his throat..
Jones didn't want anything to do with Toney at heavyweight, WTF, Toney never held a title at heavyweight:nut..
Jones took on a real challenge in Ruiz and kicked his ass, and without Roids, i may add...

After both of them barely and doubtfully got past Ruiz and up in weight, and considering Toney's shape in their 1st fight, it was natural and called for that they should have fought again.

You do not recall, but Roy did fail a drug test against Richard Hall.
Also Holyfield, Mosley, Pacquiao and Wladimir did not fail an official drug test, so what?

Toney was a shell of his self against Roy in 1994, and not due to his age.
Jackie Kallen plainly sold Toney's belt and 0 instead of moving him up to 175 in time.

    1. Roy easily beat Ruiz.

    2. You strike me as a guy who, if Roy had rematched Toney and beat him, would still be on this forum questioning why Roy had fought him and not someone else instead.

I don't think you'd ever be satisfied with anything that Roy did.

Not sure I agree with the better resume when one factors in losses and debatable decisions during Toney's prime. Roy barely ever lost a round in his prime let alone a fight.

And Roy was one of those unique fighters who had his own fundamentals, doing things that only he could get away with but which also exploited gifts that only he possessed.

And Roy hit harder and just as clean as Toney.

I care about the truth, not about her claims.

Roy easily not get hurt while not hurting, which makes it a non beating.

After 1994 Roy found time to fight lesser fighters than Toney, but never him again.

Are you seriously claiming that you didn't know that Jones FAILED a drug test AFTER his fight with Richard Hall?

Yet you want to go on to a boxing forum telling all and sundry how wonderful, and untainted you think Jones is?

    Sheer lunacy.

Perhaps you should take that logic to the thread about Ali up until 1978. There are plenty of fools there who think Foreman had a RIGHT to a rematch with Ali even though the great man exposed, humiliated, and KO'd the goon.

    Hehehehe
