I think he could. Not would, could.

It would be a stinkeroo of a fight, though.

He was like, what- Three time Golden Glove Champion? Young knockout artist with fast hands, only other loss at the time was a MD against Berbick, pretty decent prospect.
I guess everyone is just a bum once Tyson beats em.

As a professional Mitch Green was tough yes and did nothing to be ashamed of (that I know of) in the ring.
Mitch has my utmost respect as a pro and the kind I have for anyone who gets in the ring but he is not “good” compared to the vast history of boxing or else everyone is.
I think he was okay but nothing special.
Don’t assume so much either - I didn’t mention Tyson at all calling Mitch Green “okay” isn’t a sideways way of saying Mike Tyson was bad ffs I just call it as is, if I wanted to be an idiot I’d call Tyson bad without the extra words.

EDIT: Did I read your post wrong?

I was agreeing with you, but I can see how my post could be confusing. I was kinda continuing from Liston's claim while replying to your post.

He "could" yes. It's not the most probable outcome. Not nearly as busy as he'd need be to keep Tyson off him.

Keeping busy isn’t what keeps Tyson off you IMO you give up the idea of such a thing when he’s so adept at punishing the jab - you give Tyson the jab just to get him moving so you can sit down on shots where you know he’s going to be, you make him start to hesitate and then you ride off into the sunset after getting fat and letting Holyfield beat you up.
It’s a lot of feinting, clinching and resetting. All throwing lot of punches will do is give him ample countering opportunities and get you lit up like the Ali clones he demolished.

100% spot on! The entire fight would be Young "avoiding" Tyson--(and probably at some point ducking his head outside the ring ropes LOL!!)

No. Tyson's sheer hand speed would have given him hell particularly given Tyson also punched in combination well and chased both body and head and had a very complete punching arsenal. Young wasn't a runner he was a slickster and Tyson has all the tools to deal with that.

I have no idea why people are bringing up blood. He was seven fights before Tyson even won the title.

Young was a slippery MF. I think he absolutely could if he set his mind to surviving. But I don't think he could beat Tyson.

Although, thinking about it, this is also true. Maybe Young doesn't have the footspeed to get him out of trouble.
