    Calzaghe beats toney by points
    Calzaghe beats Hopkins by Points
Jones = Draw ( only saying this cos its hard for me to say who would win prime for prime at 168 )

Prime for prime, I'd rather have seen this fight than the two super fights we probably won't see, Pacquiao - Mayweather and especially Haye - either of the Klits. Annoys me that we never did and taints my opinion of Joe and Jones Jnr to be honest.

I'd have Jones Jnr by KO just by the by but no one ever knew how good Joe actually was cause he never fought anyone good enough to show it until he was way past his prime (Kessler/Hopkins being the only fighters he beat which I think means much). Oh and that's not me bigging him up, just saying in his prime he only beat Lacy and Eubank of any note and Eubank was way gone, 2 weeks notice, blah blah blah.

Calzaghe would approach it like the Jirov fight; southpaw swarmer, but mixing it up with more movement than Vasily, not allowing Toney to score as much as he counters the aggressive Welshman. Toney doesn't even get marked up mind.

Prime Toney was obviously far superior to the Cruiser version; but he was always flat-footed, bad against an adaptable fighter like Joe who will figure this out quite quickly. He is however, the greater fighter out of the two.

Not many hypothetical matchups I'm 100% certain on, but this is one. Completely different levels of fighter. Jones went through styles, against a live opponent like Calzaghe he would not have pissed about, he would've battered him.

Gotta laugh at Calzaghe fans calling Toney's record "padded". At 22, Toney went to undefeated Michael Nunn's backyard and koed him. Remind me who Calzaghe was fighting at that age?

Calzaghe will come forward to Toney, which is what he likes. Prime, motivated Toney will counter him all night. Would be a close and competitive fight, and maybe a controversial decision, but for me Toney's quality of punches would outscore Calzaghe's volume.

toney was taken to a draw by an over the hill mike mccallum and when he fought him again for the 3rd time at 175 mccalum took him to the wire and toney barely got by, at this stage mccalum was 40 years old and toney was in his mid 20s. I'm not trying to suggest calzaghe would win but alot of toneys performances just dont cut it for me

McCallum was as wiley as they come. That version of him would've given Calzaghe problems as well IMO. Iron chinned and knew how to draw mistakes out of his opponents.

What about David Starie? Robin Reid? Better than that version of McCallum?
