could Joe Calzaghe whoop Andre Ward in a 15 Rd fight

It is probable, but I think Ward has enough skill to take a SD or MD over 15-rounds.

In the fight vs old Hopkins, Calzaghe's punch stats dropped to less than 60 punches per round (less than 20 punches landed per round). I'd expect his stats to drop below 50 punches/round and about 15 punches landed vs Ward. Easy decision for Andre Ward.

Calzaghe's level would be shown up by Ward. These two were not on the same level talent wise.

There's only so far a high workrate will get you. At higher levels it will be shut down and used against him.

Ward simply isnt going to be there to allow Calzaghe land bunches of slaps on on him and when he misses he'll pay.
It will be precise accurate clean shots vs 100's of missed flurries. Mayweather vs Pacman is what it would look like even though Pacman was a better boxer than Calzaghe.

Ward has a lot of haters who can't see his talent but it was easily higher than Calzaghe's.

^ That fight was borderline unwatchable due to the lack of skill. If old man Hops with a poor gas tank can come within a hair of victory , then Ward who never tires and can work for 100% of every round would win by a large margin.
Simple fact is Calzaghe never beat anybody on Wards level and struggled with much lesser guys -
    Broken handed Kessler
    43 year old Hopkins
    Robin Ried
    Past it Richie Woodhall

Ried wouldn't win a minute of any round against Ward , but he did enough to beat Calzaghe if you take away the bogus point deduction.

Totally agree, which is why I don't have strong feelings either way. Calzaghe throws more punches, and I narrowly pick him.

What's the chances you reckon of me being able to pin point a lacklustre performance in Wards career ?? In every fighter who's ever lived career. Reid would win rounds for sure but lose against Ward, don't worry bout the minutes !

I'd favor Ward in a 12 round fight.

This is actually a competitive match-up.

Joe's is much busier, Ward throws high quality combos.

I think Joe may get the decision on home turf though.

I don't see any need to theorize on a 15 round fight.

Calzaghe lost three rounds, four tops against Kessler. Not sure where you get half from.

Kessler was in his prime too.

I think for a guy like Ward who crafted wins over 12 rounds and became so used to finding a way to just manage a fight well enough to win over the 12. 15 rounds would be much harder to do that in and someone with an engine and relentlessness like that which Calzaghe possessed would have to be a strong favourite over him in 15 rounds in my opinion.

In 12 rounds though, what a fight, I'd probably favour Ward by close decision
