To use your terminology, Foreman excelled at blowing away world class fighters early.

I think Louis destroys Foreman but has a harder time with Frazier.

Yeah but were these fighters excellent counter punchers with top shelf heavyweight power of their own in both hands? If Foreman goes charging at Louis, he may be the one on the canvas. It would be a gamble for him.

jake one of the best legends was odd here picking Louis
kurupt and hairline had it right especially hair by saying how Louis would be a cw he would be beat by mid carders never would make it to fight any of the big names

way overrated its like people cant see the change in movement from his era vs 70s George would destroy him way to much power and great at cutting the ring

Lets make it interesting and say 1967. He enters WBA elimination tournament instead of say Leotis Martin. I say he wins with Ellis his only real completion but Louis good enough to get to him enough to impair him and slow him down for a decision or possibly stoppage. At that point Ellis was a good fighter for that time period. Now Frazier vs Louis is what these comparisons are all about what would happen? Is Louis enough of Foreman to get him out. If it goes long Frazier wears him down and maybe beats him. I say the Simon ll Louis at 207 can take him out early but it would have to be Louis best performance ever. Getting into 70s bigger more athletic fighters Louis skills are neutralized by bigger guys as athletic as him. I d like to see him versus Norton but ali or Holmes whips him.

It would be a lot harder. But he’d also presumably have the advantage of an uninterrupted reign without having to do military service. Ali, Foreman, Frazier and Holmes would be very hard fights and ones that he could “ potentially “ lose. Especially Holmes given that he wouldn’t be facing him until at least 1977-78 at which point Louis would be in decline. But regardless of weather or not he’d reign for 12 years in that era, Joe Louis would be an incredible force and would certainly establish a presence

If he did, he definitely would be the GOAT at heavyweight
