Could Joe Louis make it through the following undefeated

I’d bet a lot of money that he wouldn’t.

 

Flawless victory.

 

Louis wasn't knocked out by a single punch, it was sustained hitting from Schemling that got him.

 

In 1 yr.

 

I see at least two looses. This is a lot of opponents, Mike Tyson's to be exact.

 

Tyson had a great career. Biggest problem was most thought he could have done better. My biggest issue with him is the fighters he happened to miss or avoided. Foreman, Bowe, Hide, Morrison, Tua all come to mind quickly. Not that he couldn’t have won most of those fights just that he missed a lot of big names. The same can be said of other champs though.

 

Joe Louis would be in for a shock, almost everybody on that list is much better than his actual competition. Who knows how he'd do? Maybe he could step up his game against much better fighters, or maybe beating the Baers, Galento, Braddock, Carnera, etc. is all he could do? Joe Louis in his prime fought weak competition, he fought his best competition (not his fault) when he was past his best, and went 2-2 against them and one win was disputed. Fighting Thomas, Tucker, Tubbs, Williams, etc. would be like doing another sport compared to Galento, Braddock, etc.

 

There are some big powerful capable men on this list......not sure if he could unless they stand on the ropes and fight short range then Louis hand speed, leverage, power and accuracy beats most all of them.... there are but a handful of heavyweight fighters who could destroy an opponent within a 12" punching range Dempsey, Tyson are two but none could throw as fast or fluid in volume.....there is only a few jabs nearly on par a few IMO hit harder but not as accurate......mmmmm

 

Very few, if any, champions, fight a continuous list of A- to A+ contenders consecutively.

Ali had his Richard Dunns, Brian Londons & Rudi Lubbers, and was not chastised much for it.

 

Some of those ranked opponents were better than others though, there were only a few good fighters at heavyweight during Tyson`s title reigns.

 

Tucker would have beaten Baer but tubbs didn`t have Tucker`s punch or chin, he might have been overpowered by Max and the same applies to Williams who was really easy to knock out with the hook.
